I was reading some posts on the Radiant Energy Yahoo Group froum and noticed that Steven of Rimstar recommending a book called "Instruments of Amplification: Fun With Homemade Tubes, Transistors, And More" by H.P. Friedrichs. More information on the book, as well as pictures of tubes the author has manufactured, can be found at the author's website The H.P. Friedrichs (AC7ZL) Homepage . I thought I would mention it since it may be a good book for anyone interested in attempting to replicate tubes made by Tesla, Moray or Farnsworth Multipactors.

While I'm on the topic, I recall in Vassilatos' book "Secrets of Cold War Technology" that one of the books listed in the references was called "Vacuum Tubes of Tesla" by Jorge Resines. It was listed as a forthcoming title but I never recalled Borderlands, who sell Resines' books, selling this title nor can I seem to find a copy of it. Was it ever published? Does anyone know if it is possible to contact Jorge regarding this book? I've recently purchased a number of books from Borderlands which included many titles by Resines and find that he provides information on free energy devices which I have not come across before.

It was never published. At the time it was supposed to be published Jorge Resines was a citizen of Argentina and as the story goes he got caught by political upheavals and political violence. After that he stopped publishing and was never heard from again by anyone outside Argentina. He might still be alive and someone from Argentina could try to find him out there. IIRC he lived near or in Buenos Aires. That's all the info I have.

I found this list of books which are reprints on the subject on vaccum tube design, materials and manufacturing:

The books which are focused on materials and manufacturing are Handbook of Materials and Techniques for Vacuum Devices, Handbook of Electron Tube and Vacuum Techniques, and Vacuum Sealing Techniques. As you can see, the books are quite pricey but you may be able to find them cheaper at Amazon, Abebooks or possibly Ebay.

I live in Australia and am unaware of anyone who would manufacture vaccuum tubes in any quantity. Attempting to manufacture our own tubes is the only option for many of us, possibly the cheapest one as well.
