I don't know if it will be that difficult. Our leaders seem to be in step. But I guess they see gradual as the best way, economically and all.

G-20 Countries Will Phase Out Fossil Fuel Subsidies

G-20 government leaders today concluded the Pittsburgh Summit with a commitment to phase out fossil fuel subsidies over the medium term while providing targeted support for the poorest households. The leaders said that this unprecedented move is expected to encourage energy conservation, improve energy security, and kick-start their commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In his closing address to the G-20 leaders, host President Barack Obama said, "We agreed to phase out subsidies for fossil fuels so that we can transition to a 21st century energy economy - an historic effort that would ultimately phase out nearly $300 billion in global subsidies."

How much does your local gas station make per litre or gallon, you think. Seriously. They're not called service stations for nothing ;-)

Solution for America : boycott elections where the choice is Rep-Dem. It is not a choice, it's a pseudo-choice. It's a bit of mixing it up at the parliament, nothing more. Find a new voice. Someone who doesn't care for money. Warren Buffett should run for office, and you should elect him. Despite his questionnable relation with Al Gore who after all is questionnable.

So, OIL tax, not carbon tax. And for reasons of it running out, not for insincere global warming concerns. How much tax on a can of sparkle water?

In Berlin 1989, the people took control. They took what what their's: rights, freedom, equality. Against a military power. With bare hands and loud voices.
How many bare hands and loud voices does US have? Did you read your constitution lately? What is it getting you lately?
      Why is Charlie Sheen ignored?

Europe for one, is NOT taking the US seriously anymore. It started when Junior was elected (sortof), confirmed when he was re-elected, and every news items further confirms it : you're worse as a government than the Sovjet ever was.

How much fuel do you NEED? Do you NEED to drive a pickup truck to get a bag of groceries? My nation has more bicycles stands at the supermarket (always more than full) than it has parking spaces. And we are by far a richer country. We can afford proper European and Japanese cars, and national mandatory health insurance ;-)

Someone wealthy will need to take the lead, and do everything the government or elite hate them to do. Fund. Preach individualism. Preach health, not consumerism. Wealth through wisedom and love, not mateiral possessions that will be robbed from you in an approaching national crisis anyway.
Be good people. Pay taxes, and make sure they are not spent on nitwits at NASA, an impotent (911) oversized army, and too many politicians that can's spell their own second name, or tell a truth without twitching.

OK, I need to breathe now.
I agree that billions should be pumped into developing real solutions but I don't see this happening no matter who is in office - more lip service than anything.

Increasing oil tax is a good way to damage the economy, make businesses bear the burden of higher priced goods while passing on these costs to the consumers. Even without really increasing oil taxes, just look at the price increase within the last few years, which wasn't even a tax increase, any increase in oil price trickles out to just about everything including milk and eggs at the store making it even harder for the average person to put food on the table. This is really just common sense.

The gas stations themselves do not make much per gallon of gas. One of my best friends here owned a convenience store/gas station about 10-15 years ago. You know how much profit he made per gallon average? About 6 cents per gallon. It won't be much different from that now.

Of course republic/democrat choices are not real choices - people are simply being asked a very basic closing question - do you want to vote democrat or republican? People in this country are brainwashed throughout school from early childhood and on. In govt class, which more and more schools don't even teach anymore, and you see a list of different beliefs. If you believe more in column A, then your a democrat, if you believe more in column B then you're a republican. If you're one of the oddballs that happen to believe a balance or other choices then you're in Column C and you're an independent. People never decided what they wanted, they were always force fed the options to pick from and are led to believe they are choosing. Most people make decisions and most people don't know the distinction between deciding and choosing and most people have never even made a choice in their life because they don't know the difference. You're preaching to the choir and are not really pointing out anything new but I agree with you.

Political parties are simply factions and our founding fathers always warned against political parties because they divide the country and they really rose out of competition for the presidency.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me how many bicycles per captia any other country has. I lived in Japan for 14 non-consecutive years of my life so I'm familiar with WALKING, RIDING BIKES, and taking the TRAIN. But I can also guarantee that the Japanese are just as fanatical about their cars as the Americans are. Car freaks span the entire globe. I would never apologize or feel that I need to justify my choice in driving whereever I please no matter how far away or how close. One of my cars has gotten up to 43MPG in the city so at least that is better than average but if you want solutions you have to go to the top of the money chain and dismantle the entire global central banking system and I'd love to see this happen first in with the Federal Reserve. Even with any other energy development that relieves the use of oil for energy, everything will simply be taxed to death.

Even if every car was able to get 300MPG right now, do you think that would be a step in the right direction? Not as far as the control goes because if all cars were getting 300MPG, they would simply put in a 1 gallon tank in cars to make sure people are still coming to the gas station often ad gas would probably be $20 per gallon - it doesn't make any difference until the counterfit money printers of the world are defeated, in my opinion.

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread, there is plenty of oil all over the world and it appears to simply be a game.

One of my friends best friends worked on some oil tankers in Alaska. Taker would leave Alaska, go south, come back to Alaska and would still be full. Those companies are artifitically creating a shortage and this is what has happened multipe times over the last few decades. Just like diamonds - the only thing that gives those rocks any value is that most of them are locked away to control the supply that is in the world and that is the only thing that gives it any value - nothing but a total complete fraudulent joke.
      Sincerely,
      Aaron Murakami

        gas from coal

"We should leave the oil in the ground. From what I understand about most of it up there in the N.Dakota and Montana is real crude. Real crude oil is almost mud and takes near the same amount of energy to refine as you get out of it. So what would be the point... I guess to keep practicing a mindless loss in energy, something like a grounded circuit. LOL"

Matt, one other option is that I believe the US has more coal than anywhere in the world. Gasoline can be processed from coal with much less energy - there are many techniques to do this. The Nazi's I believe perfected some of the technology and we know so much more now.

And for oil, there are plenty of synthetic means for making oil that outperform petroleum oil for lubrication. Amsoil is one example where much of the base for it is from plants.
        Sincerely,
        Aaron Murakami

I hear you guys on the problems and why it's happening. Someone I know has an uncle who developed a carburetor that gave a regular car 50+ miles to the gallon. The patent was bought by Shell Oil for about a million bucks and put on the shelf. There are controllers out there.

But for solutions to this, the Tesla car from California -- go to tesla motors.com Available now is an all electric car w/a 200+ mi. range, that can go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. These are about $120,000 each. They are coming out w/a sedan that gets 300 miles on a charge and 5.6 sec for 60mph. It will go for $50,000 in 2011. A charge for that range would cost about $4.00. These are both pretty sweet looking cars and a econo model is in the plans.

Tesla even received approval for about $465 million in loans from the US Department of Energy to accelerate the production of affordable, fuel-efficient electric vehicles.

The last thing the government wants is for gasoline to go away. It's a huge source of revenue which will be difficult to replace. The problem our "leaders" are faced with is how to tax and control the future energy source we use for transportation. Electricity is by far the best choice, but it's way too accessible, and cheap to make. Being able to recharge your car at home makes it harder to tax and charge exorbitant profits for that energy. It's also more difficult to claim a "shortage" in order to further raise prices. Besides, how can we invade foreign countries on the pretext of protecting their electricity supply?
They tried to sell hydrogen filling stations, but it's just too easy to make your own hydrogen (hydroxy). The last thing they want is a lot of attention paid to hydroxy anyway. They know that a Stan Meyers unit would appear virtually instantly, and that would really kill them.
All they can do is make some noises about getting greener, but they won't make it happen. The private sector (us) have to make it happen in spite of the government. The government will be the biggest hurdle, next to the technology itself, to overcome.
The government is the enemy. The further away they're kept, the better.

You are so right in a lot thatbyou say. The real enemy is edjucation or lack there of of it to be more towards the point. Lack of understanding just what America is leeds to some the statements you write. The preamble doesn't say, "I the President," or "We the Congress or Senate," it says, "We The People." We the people are the government but we have been fooled into thinking our representatives are the government. Right now the bankers are in control of our government along with the many corperations that have sprung up around them, this is to include the military and medical industrial complexes. The only way I can see out of their control is through another revolution complete with bloodshed. The dumbed down masses will put their lives on the line to defend this current system that has taken their government away from them but they don't know it has been taken away from.

Energy independance seems to be just around the corner and is just one part in getting our governmet back. The other part in getting our government is edjucating the many people that don't understand our constitution and the many more that have never even read it. Most people don't even know we our a Republic and not a Democracy nor do they know the differance between the two. All this poor edjucation is preplaned by those that stole our government. Time is not on our side for our very own police force is being pited against us plus the many blackwater type hit men.

Once I'm am done with Stanley Meyers work I am sure many will follow me afterwords for I posted everything already on what needs to be by others to do so. Edjucating people is another story where this time I don't know how to go about it. All I can do is hope people start to wake up.

But seems its the ol Story, 1960 been there some devices too, what seems did do a Fuelsave, but, everyone know where these things are now.

His statement was that he is in the oil business to produce as much profit as he can for his investors, and he and the other oil corporations intend on making as much money as possible regardless of economic repercussions.

This is why (according to him) oil will never be sold "cheap" to America if it is drilled here. It will be sold at market price. Standard supply and demand economics. Drilling here only depletes our local backup supply, nothing more.

I heard him say it. I believe NBC dateline did an interview with him last year when gas was $4+ a gallon.
They are also breaking into the Natural gas market to hedge their bet's on some mandatory natural gas use.

I mentioned this before but took it down, the oil in the North of North America and up through Canada has A high refinement cost. It has to be extracted from the mud and sand thats mixed with it.
So it defiantly wont's be any cheaper to manufacture.

Lol those oil execs are complete liars and criminals who should be in prison.

They are right now sitting on thousands of gas wells in the US that have been temporarily shut down because they don't "like" the current prices (yet they still import natural gas). That proves 2 things:

                      1) They are are in COMPLETE CONTROL of the supply side. This gives them control over the entire market. Because the commodities market is supposed to be governed by the "supply". But that really doesn't matter anyway, last year's "oil price bubble" was purely manipulation of the market through speculation, which THEY created themselves. Highly illegal, BTW: Security & Exchange Commission rules, Anti-Trust Act.... And RICOH Organized Crime.

                      2) The mainstream media refuses to ask them any important questions like the above: They control it, too.

Those who want to drop the prices, can do so by obsoleting fossil fuels.
Just the brains of this one website together, can revolutionize energy collection and usage. The brain power is there to make a wind turbine that is not a "horizon pollutant", and silent as if it's not there. I see it as an extra 2 feet on top of a roof. Doubling as solar collector AND insulator/heat switch. Atticks could be nice and cool on summer days.
Give big oil the finger, use little, and by the time prices go their way, disconnect altogher. Honk your Tesla's horn when you pass an office of Big Oil as indication of disagreement. That would get into the news. Constant honking of coincidental passers by. Nice for those working there. I already have I use about 1% oil of what i used to use. However, this is not practicable for everyone (lol i live on an island). My sailboat uses about 1 cup's worth of gas to get out into the channel where the sails can be raised(and some days i can sail right to- or from the dock), and i've cut down on grid energy usage to a large degree... Yet the bastards still get nearly $100 from me a month... For power that should only cost about $30 and STILL give them a decent profit. I am getting ripped off every day by these criminals, as are we all.

My heart goes out to professional truckers, who suffered the most last year. The large trucking corps buy their Diesel on the spot market for about 40% cheaper than Independents could... And for some unknown and NEVER EXPLAINED reason Diesel rose in price much more than gasoline did. In fact it stayed higher as well after the bubble burst. That put many of the Independents out of business...

The only way to end this is to take away their monopoly forever. They have proved over and over they cannot be trusted, and they do not deserve the "special status" they have in our society. In fact, all they deserve is PRISON.
