I want to thank you for all the hard work you put into this, in the last few posts. It's putting alot of things in to perspective, the more I read into it.

Question: Can I use feritte rods? instead of copper rods?

Wow thank you all for the great idea's here, it has been so inspiring and educational that it makes me try to replicate these great inventions! I have been working on the poor mans don smith/reverse tesla coil and I have to say I see great potential. Zilano's design with the flyback circuit and the capacitor out front is interesting. I am going to try that to, charge it up and disconnect the battery, curious to see how that may work. I'm still learning everyday about this subject and it's amazing to see the great minds here. Thank you. Live long and prosper.

Question:
How much wattage can normally go through a flyback circuit? My two resistors are 330 ohms @ 5 watt and 18 ohms @ 5 watt with a power transistor that was with the flyback in the tv. I am wondering if I used an inverter than a dimmer switch if I could crank it up a bit, instead of normal 12VDC?

Sure can, hollow ferrite rod with solid copper rod insert (for tuning?) is what Zilano uses right now.

I could not find a 2" diameter hollow ferrite rod 8" to 10" long. Even stacking smaller length sections of 2" diameter would work.

Please let me know if you find any. In the mean time copper coated welding rods are easier to find and will work.

No more than 4kV, I used 8Kv, my computer and my tv has gone mad, the spark has influence on Them
I belive that diode must be there.

Nice setup on your reverse Tesla coil and regular TC with the Don Smith pickup plates!

Dynatron says the input NST circuit to the air core primary coil needs to be in the 100 to 200 watt range. Yours in the 3 watt range will not show any great output effects like lighting those 3 - 4' long gas tubes.

I think that as you increase your input watts you will be able to see some better results on the output side.

As for coil tuning, Zilano says measure your coils inductances with your LCR meter then use the nomogram or Reactance chart with your capacitor value to determine what your frequency is at.

Its been hiding in plain view for over 100 years!

Step up voltage, create "cold electricity" from the "ambient environment," then step down voltage and convert it to regular amperage in huge amounts. Don Smith says it pretty simple really.

Also noticed that you had 3 secondary coils spaced far apart over the 80 turns primary? Copper tubes 3/8" dia.?

You just need 2 coils with center tap to ground, 5 turns CW & 5 turns CCW (see diagram below). I also could not tell if you had a center tap to ground from your secondary coils.

I've found on russian site something interesting which needs confirmation. They posted schematic of TV flyback , the newer one with built-int diode. They stated it already contain HV diode and capacitor.If that's true some effects could be obtained just with flyback,spark gap and primary of transformer, when matching resonant frequency of flyback and matching primary to this.
I'm still searching for a way to measure length of primary and secondary of flyback or car ignition coil for purpose of 1/4 wavelength resonance.
Anybody has idea ?

Nice, thanks for the info. I am curious which diode you are talking about? The one after the NST? I noticed the same, the spark gap creates quiet the field that influences the enviroment around it.

So... I got my garage cleaned out last weekend. That's my progress so far. :-) Actually, my garage is a basement storage unit in an apartment complex. So I'd like to add shielding for my project right away. What's the best material to use for RF shielding?

Ah Zilano, Where have you been all my life? ... oops sorry I got lost there for a minute the question was supposed to be where have I been the last few weeks. I totally missed this thread until today. Nice work here and congrats on having a home powered with OU and off grid! I do hope you will stick with us until there are some replications as it has happened so many times in the past that some one has something but disappears before any one gets a replication. I always worry that anything less than full disclosure of what you know may put you at risk of visits from bad people.

You had posted a circuit in post #463 but it does not seem to be there. Can you repost that or does anyone have that diagram?
