      Hi Dragon

I had elephant stew once the best stew ever, living in Africa what do you expect.
But never a whole elephant lol
I am ready to go back on topic and Zilano my best wishes for you.

        Good-by darling "user";
U've got enough PM now to see life from bright side.
Just when u come next time do not change other's schematic, bring yr own.
Sorry I was too rough on u, I love your passion, but "Plato is friend...".
And forgive those suits and ties, they're dreamers, hard dreaming somebody will give them something, they here day and nite, probably unemployed, "OU" their last chance.
Well, good luck, Persian (or rather Armenian) friend, I'm leaving too - no "users", no "prompts".
        Chao.

          @Slovenia,

          As do I, you.

Now, let us all be brothers on the quest for ultimate truth of what Kapanadze knows. (To the purists: If you prefer, substitute Smith for Kapanadze)

I believe Woopy's last experiment with the hard drive disks raised interesting questions.

              • Hey Z, Im glad to see you're still around, I hope your skin gets a little thicker. I hope there aren't hard feelings, cause I didn't intend to hurt yours. So anayway back to research.

                • cap charging

Hey guys, here is a new video April 30, 2012 9:11 PM - YouTube It shows a cap being charged radiantly with Lenz's collector and an NST with one side earthed and the other end open. Its only at 18k and the the field is not that big. Im going back to the D.S. setup to try this, but it will have to act like the kacher coil.

After 2 days having being offline I feel very sad that this topic has gone
so off-topic in a no-where way debate that helps no one and nothing
I for myself don`t like to be a fan of zilano-pro or zilano-con groups.
I don`t know about you all other guys but I am here in hope to find some points to go after
trying to replicate at least one of Don Smith Devices, and not to enter a debate
that does not help for that single scope.
Wanna a point to refer as a genuine point of critic ?
Here it is: Don Smith`s device & Kapanadze devices and the similar ones are based
on the work and research of Nikola Tesla. So, as long someone is presenting his/her knowledge
and that knowledge does not support the work of Tesla or is not based purely
on Teslas inventions, than my advice is to reject it,unless mass replicated.

Thanks to all sincere contributors here.
                    Best Regards for all here.
                    Agreed!

I had been trying to wade through this thread, but most of the posts aren't about the subject of the thread!! This thread has major ADD!! This makes it very very hard to gain any understanding of the device(s) I came here to learn about. And this discussion is supposed to be the best source of information on Don Smiths devices

My advice would be that if you are experimenting or discussing a device that does not relate to this thread that you seriously consider starting another thread. In other words stop posting off-topic.

                    Cheers

So while thinking about the Don Smith devices, namely the one that uses a neon sign transformer and steps it up and back down with a major power increase. It occurred to me that a slightly simpler design could be built somewhat easier.

Instead of using an NST, an electronic ballast from a CFL (basically a solid state Tesla coil) would suffice as long as a few design changes are made. These things run at about 47 to 50khz, they are compact, CHEAP, light and efficient, and you can choose from a wide variety (with inputs of 12vdc, 120 vac, 240vac), and various output wattages from 11watts to 45. They have an output voltage of 1200 to 600v. That output may sound weak compared to your average NST, but it also makes some of the other parts a LOT cheaper. Also a few of 290v GDTs could be used as the spark gap, right after a high speed diode OR I could try to use the original CFL tube for a spark gap.

Then the primary for the big step up could use a 1200v to 1500v tuning cap and four turns of wire. With the cap and coil in parallel so as to raise the impedance so the electronic ballast doesn't fry itself. The secondary would be the usual 9KV or so (60 turns?). Once the power gain is made here then the usual resonant step down transformer to a voltage I can use for appliances and heating. This would be followed by a really hefty rectifier of course.

                      (Note:Edited for clarity)
Does anyone see anything wrong with this idea? Anyone care to try it?

I'm planning on trying it as soon as I get a few more parts in.

                      Cheers.

with respect to the above highlighted quoted text.

Nice job ! It helps to have a starting point that works then discoveries can be made at ones own pace of comprehension. It's difficult to find something when you have no idea what your looking for.

What you have now sort of looks like Tesla's patent 685,957 doesn't it?

Check out the patent and look at the first page of print and read lines 87-93.

We tend to overlook things we don't understand and work with things we do. If we put a large steel ball in front of your plate that is charged to a massive pressure and proper polarity, that plate will momentarily suck a massive charge from the ground in an attempt to match the balls charge in the opposite polarity. In doing so the obstacle in the way also receives a charge ( load - cap - arm leg etc ).

So what is your coil doing to the plate? Why does woopy's experiment work so well?

                            • Lock the thread

This thread should be locked and made a sticky as an example of how a good
thread can be hijacked by a charlatan promising big over unity and turned into
                              a quagmire of confusion.

Then Zilano and co. could start a new thread and try to defend it from a similar attack.

Everyone has idea's. Imagine if we all start posting every untested idea we have. We could fill 100's of pages in quick time.

The right way to do it in my opinion is to try as many idea's of our own as we
can, videotape the interesting experiments and share the few idea's we can't
                              try ourselves for some reason.

You guys want idea's just say so, I'm sure thousands can be thought up.

Like someone else commented earlier. All the non experimenters go and buy
1000 dollars worth of electronics components/gear. And I'll sit here thinking up
idea's for you to try to make work, sounds like fun.

I say lock this thread as an example. So no more info can be deleted.

Then start another one of your own. Any apologies should come from Zilano.
It's very easy to fill a thread with rubbish, it has happened to my threads too.

I imagine the thread starter left in disgust. A smart move if he did. His thread was hijacked .

This thread was intended for determining the reality of the Don smith devices.
Going by the thread title and the line of posts from the thread starter that is
what was intended in my opinion.

Why not go and start a thread titled "Don Smith devices are real as claimed
don't question just believe" or something like that.

Unless baroutologos come along and asks me to stop posting I see no reason
why I should. I think this was meant to be a reality check thread by the
                              thread starter.

So we have the Don Smith calculations. Any more about that and how they
might relate to the power rating on NST's. If it's all the same then what does
                              that say ?

                              Regards
