  • stable 555 driver

    dont know about anyone else but hae been down the track of sourcing and building various 555 drier circuits, this is the one ive found best .

    The main problem with the 555 is , each time you change the duty cycle , you affect the frequency.If you want something that is by 100 time more usefull than a 555, use a TL494CN , voltage controled . Cost 0.79$ so its realy cheap.

            like i said "555 driver" there are other chips/config available.

                Yes, most of the applications shown in the web include 555 circuits that shift their frequencies when duty cycle is changed.
                I have already referred to a link and also showed a 555 circuit in which the two variables do not "see" each other after their any adjustment, see here:

                Yes, a TL494 is also a good solution. Using a CMOS version of the 555 gives a very little input power consumption for its own operation, this may be a benefit in certain circumstances and also it has a 2-3MHz upper frequency limit versus the some hundred kHz of the bipolar timer versions.
