Hi Gang,
I have a problem that I can't seem to figure out. Maybe one of you can help me.
Here goes:
I purchased a solar pathway lights as they were on sale at Menards for very cheap end of season.
Each light comes with one AAA (1.2 volt @300mah) battery as well as a manual shut off switch. As with most of these types of lights it also comes with one very crappy low light LED.
I have replaced the one LED with 4 super bright LEDS and replaced the one AAA battery with 2 AA batteries wired in series. (1.2 volts @2800mah)(Now its 2.4 volts @2800 Mah)
Well now I have a very bright solar light that is like 10x the brightness it was originally and it lasts for about 24 hours straight. (yes I tested this;-)
anyway, I noticed however that now the photo sensor will not shut the light off like it did when one AAA battery is installed. I tested this using a flashlight that was very bright shining on the photo sensor and the LEDs went very dim (like they are suppose to) however not enough to shut them off completely.
What can I do to make them shut off automatically like they should?
Resistor in line with the photo sensor? Replacing the resistor with a larger one?
I am really stuck here. I love the light output now but it will now shut off during the daytime to allow for the batteries to charge.
Thanks for any help you can give me;-)
Larry
