Hello Zeno,
First of all, i would like to get a feel of resonance with huge capacitance and small inductunce, as per Don Smith devices (the poorer type of resonance per Tesla). My initial results are confirming this.
Specifically, my circuit pulses at 25 volt, true, but it applies the potential only to 2 turns out of 50 or so. Theoretically, the LC could get as much as 2000+ volts that way if i am correct. Nowhere near those figures. Especially with larger caps.
I have tried using my NST in that arrangement as i saw and understood Don's device from the high quality photos http://www.energeticforum.com/81735-post207.html Absolutely nothing happened that way.
My next experiments are to try Tesla's circuits for prolonging ringing in the primary LC using HV from NST (shock excitation) Suggested circuits are depicted below.
@ marxist,
The ground usage for max amperage, i expressed it in another context. That of a Tesla coil with one terminal capacity that creates the condition for a maximum oscillating current back and forth as a pump. In Smith's setup, ground cannot perform that function. At least as i see it.
