@ Jiffy
Wow! You really are a pro! i cant wait to see what you do with those coils....so much to try Good Luck with the corn seedlings. I think you have to follow your own instincts with these experiments and do whatever intrigues you. Great to see everyone doing this as it gives us more info when there are several of us taking various directions.
The weekend is almost here at last.....free to play with my exciter. Im still trying to investigate the white light effect - the tungsten seems to burn away too damn fast at the brighter levels to sustain itself for longer than 5 mins.

I agree some very talented and resourcefull boys over here!
But you should tell them about the really big deal thats taking place as we speak!

what a good work i am really impressed.
So Jiffycoil you are showing us the example of perfect work with very simple aparatus and best skill.
Bravo
i will have a good night now

Slayer Standard Coil
Hi to the dream team of Slayer SEC
After all the tests made with various coil dimensions and gages as LIDMOTOR
Jonny Seth Jiffy and all those in the Forum
Maybe Slayer and all of you can come up with a simple specs on the coil
Backtraking on the posts will surely have lots of lots of good results
From minimum intput to max output
Plasma effect
Different transistors//mosfet control
Applications a wide range Portable Cheap and less parts
Lighting, UV disinfection, HHO production and other medical applications....
Each and everyone of us can cover this field
A MILLION THANKS TO THE REPLICATORS

@Woopy
Thank you sir. I made a winding jig using an old variable speed drill and it has worked for years and wound dozens of coils.

Hi Jiffycoil
Wowww so nice coils. Seems to be very exact.
Do you use a lathe for the winding or do you wind them by hand ?
And if you have a lathe could you explain how to do.
Thanks
and good luck at all

@Lidmotor
Thank you for the kind words. I assure you my work area and tools weren't always that way. I do realize how fortunate I am and I try to share that whenever I can. I'm also working on going back to the low voltage beginnings of the Slayer exciter. I think there is much to be learned there.
I'm also going to do a study on how corn seedlings growth is effected by exposer at various proximities to the exciter. This is something I promised CosmicG and I need to do it. I don't know if this is the right study to make but it can surely give us some data that might be useful.Last edited by Jiffycoil; 10-21-2010, 06:41 PM.

@ Jonnydavro
Thanks Jonny for the tips on how to make the Pop Bottle Coil perform better. I had more fun with it yesterday running it with a better primary and 12 volts again. I put a thin FL tube down the bottle neck to light up the whole bottle. Great fun!! Now that I have learned more about these things I may back track to a 3" tube like Slayer called for and start over. He truely is the master of the one AA battery exciter and that coil design may have something to do with it.
@Jiffycoil
I can't wait to see what you are going to do with those coils. I took some time and looked at all the pictures that you have posted at the pic site and was amazed at all the you have built. That is a fantastic workshop of you have there. Stuff of dreams to those of us who make do with a screw driver, pair of pliers, and a kitchen table.
Cheers,
Lidmotor

New work
I have finished winding the 3 coils for my upcoming exciter experiment. I plan on setting these up in a triangle and running them all using a individual Slayer Exciter for each. It will be interesting to see how the coverage are changes using three coils.

@Lidmotor.Great vid and demo .Isn't it funny how all these projects can compliment each other.
Regarding the pop bottle coil.I get my best results when using a loose wound spiral L2 coil of about 3 turns 18swg with plastic straw standoff's like you showed in one of your vids along with a 4148 diode from emitter to base.This should give you plasma at 240mA or so using an mpsa06 at 16v from a wall outlet transformer.
I have not tried the above setup on a 1.5v battery but with my normal loose wrap L2 it will light a 4w tube on 3v and then i switch a battery out and it stays lit on one.I think once the tube is energised it does not take as much to run it as compared to the initial start but looking back at some of Slayers vids,he is the master of the 1.5v battery Jonny

Pop Bottle Exciter on ONE AA battery
@Jonny
I ran your pop bottle coil today on one AA (no cell phone charger). The circuit was just the bare bones Slayer Exciter and I used a TIP31. At less than 20mA I could light up a bunch of LEDs but not an FL.
I made a video of it working along with a pulse motor driving a satellite magnet which powered Maggie from a distance (seperate project). I posted the video over at the One magnet no bearing thread. It is posted there instead of here because I show more of the motor than the exciter in the video.

[QUOTE=jonnydavro;113455]@Lidmotor.Thanks for trying the pop bottle coil .These bottles are available worldwide and are so in countries where lighting is a big problem,they could maybe build a Slayer exciter from scrap and with some Leds,have light.

that is the best thing to do hellllllp those in need just now the philippines struck by 240 km / hr typhoon no water / elecztricity for 1 week

Hi to all
Finally Original Sec using 2n3055 with L2 9t pancake 23awg
L3 9T 18 awg at the bottom between L1 and L2 connected to pos rail the other end open
L4 9T spread 0.5cm inside of L1 connected to pos rail the other end open
11v untuned 0.28 amps 3 mm plasma and uv filament whitish in color
11v tuned L2 near bottom 50 ma with two egg magnet on top of UV lamp
cheers

You are also getting a great plasma output and the Tip31c looks great.
I also just use the bare bones Slayer circuit with a 16k resistor on the base and have found it works really well.
How does this coil compare to the one you normally use?
This coil should work well with your Joulini but to get the coronal plasma,you will have to use mpsa06 transistors,mine are fairchild brand.I tried bc182 transistors which is the only other transistors i have and got no plasma,also use a larger 1:1 coil than in your joulini vid.Getting a high voltage onto the base side of the circuit is important.The coil i used on my Bedini exciter was wound with a drill using 2 250g rolls of 26swg wire and the coil on the joulini rep is basically ready made and is 500g,twin twisted 0.4mm which i estimate as 27swg so the two coils are very similar and i think if you will have to wind something similar for you to get the plasma using the closest awg wire size but believe me,when you get it,you will be amazed as the spinning magnet can be heard firing in the plasma and there may be an audio application.Happy experimenting.Jonny.
