About negative ion generator, would you use radiant oscillator? I find them produce a lot of ion wind. Strong enough to blow thin paper if you use sharp needle. Use shielded wire before the needle to make the ion wind stronger. To find the negative of secondary terminal use neon bulb. The negative is the one connected to electrode that glow more.
My understanding is that a radiant oscillator would not produce sufficient HV to create ions, as voltage needed is in the range of 3-5kV and up?
