    zhorv324, do you think that at higher RPM's my commutator could fail? I don't think so, I had the same type of commutator on my Lindemann rotary attraction motor V3.0 and it could reach up to 11k RPM without any problems

    Anyway, I got my stator poles machined today. They did not want to machine it as long as magnets were inside so I had to get them out and get the spacing the same as when the magnets were inside. Was not easy, but I managed to do that. Now I just need to get the stator and rotor to another machinist to grind the stator to correct dimensions so that an air gap of 0.15mm is achieved between stator and rotor.

    It's better to wear off by working than to rust by doing nothing.

        NO,Jetijs I don't think that commutator failed , bat in my case same "things "fly away when I tray to reach max rpm. I think that forces in flyn motor is mach greater in comparison to switching reluctance motor .And yes i like your setup because is more precise then my

          Hi all
          I finally got the rotor and stator machined smooth with an air gap of 0.15mm on each side. Just threw it all together without magnets to see how it would rotate and how hard it would be to center the rotor with equal air gap all around it. Seems pretty good. Here are some pictures (don't mind the finger prints on the acrylic ):





          Now the last hardest thing to do left is to wind the coils, everything else should not be a problem.

                There might be a slight problem with one of the bearings, because the material out of which I cut the bearing holders, was a bit bent so that the bearing when fixed, makes a little drag. I will change that bearing, if this wont help, I will need to go with the bearings like I used in the attraction motors. But that is not that important.

                    Hi glotuc, I see your experiment on you tube with parallel path, and i have suggestion. Repeat your experiment with laminate bar on non active side. You will see teeth you use less energy to divert flux

                          I have finally wound the coils, it was not easy, because I had to do that several times, there was always a short somewhere to the core. I had to grind down the sharp edges and cover them with epoxy to solve that. I used 0.7mm diameter wire and used 2 strands of wire. The space was limited, but I managed to squeeze about 250 turns combined on both stators, I mean 250 turns of each strand, 500 turns total. Today I assembled everything together, but could not finish everything, because I did not have some bolts at hand. Tomorrow the motor will be finished, all but the circuit part. And then the fun begins

                              Well, the motor is ready, here are the pictures:









                              The interesting thing is that when I turn it by hand, I can see the coils generating some small voltage. So it can also be used as a generator. But I have not tried anything else yet. Now I need to make a driving circuit.
