    Hi all,

I got a tip on another forum:
Core of the physical effect discovered by Andrey Melnichenko

It's my impression that they energize one coil,
no other load but the coil during the energizing,
the energized coil sits on a core that gets magnetized,
close by there is another coil on a similar core,
the second core gets magnetized for free (more or less),
the current energizing the first coil gets interrupted,
you get a spike from both coils,
the spike from the second coil is for free.

    Is this real?

    whats a triblet?
    This?

I am having a hard time understanding him because he describes alot as free.
Magnets are still magic as far as I know, and I keep learning more about them all the time.

In addition to the video on the site, there are som on youtube as well. Here is one:

        Don't know, maybe an E-core?

I just made a 2 toroid joule thief and it seems the answer is yes.

I was trying to make a mag amp. and I wound both parts of the centertapped jt primary onto one toroid core, and then wound the (collector) other coil alone on the other coil.
I am describing this in case it makes a difference.

Basically -- I wound the joule thief primary over an overlapped portion of the 2 toroid cores.
Then I wound 2 similar secondaries around the cores.
The on-off of the primary produced slightly different but very similar spikes in both cores.
Each had around 50v of spikes peak to peak.

I guess what I do not understand is what these russian guys are doing that makes filament bulbs light up with the spikes???????

anyway yes, the voltage effect was doubled in my experiment.

              Thanks Jeanna! This is interesting.
I'm planning on doing an experiment myself this weekend.
