Simple experiment that will help you understand.

HV neon sign transformer -> any metallic connector of FL tube -> your hand holding the glass (careful, metallic parts will zap you) near the opposite end of the first tube -> you other hand holding the second FL tube. Both light bulbs will be lit.

It has nothing to do with magnetic field traveling through the body.
