Hmmm, have you thought about the possibly of using a clear tube wrapped with one way mirror film? Normally this type of film is used on vans and motor homes to reflect sunlight away from the interior, and also to afford privacy (you see out, but no one can see in). The film could just as well be used in reverse mode to allow light to penetrate inwards, where it would be reflected continuously by the mirror surface. Just a thought. Good idea... I hadn't considered that. I see that it filters ultraviolet frequencies so I wonder if it filters infrared as well...

I'll have to check into this some more. Thanks for the idea.

I remind all that the size of a 2 liter bottle equals a 50 watt light bulb ...
The issue of piping sunlight still remains.
Also, remind you of light refraction as a means of sunlight capture, not just the use of reflection.
