i just treied your idea of winidng the blue coil around the rodin and pulsing it...

i tried the windings of thr rodin in all of the combinations as a pickup coil........no luck :-(
Thats weird, I get at least transformer effect:
YouTube - TPU can not be measured with digital meter, edit: because it is AC
YouTube - digital turn out can measure volt but not amp of TPU
YouTube - digital can not measure TPU collector output #3

My donut is similar to rodin and my winding is the blue wiring. I get around 1 Volt and 30mA if measured with analog. less than 10mA with digital.

I think the important difference is:
    - I don't use optocoupler. My transistor do die with this coil when I forget to utilize the coil feedback. See my previous suggestion
    - I use normal pulsed DC at around 2KHz.

my donut is around 2 ohm, and my blue coil is around 6 ohm.

I think there still magnetic flux at the core directing them both, so the current can only go to one direction.

may want to try an AV-plug

however....when i wire it as on the right... bulb does not light....and no signal is present on the scope other than positive and negative spikes
      Hi rave154,
did you ever make one of these so called AV-plugs using 2 diodes of type 1N4148 and one ore more super bright LEDs in between, all cathodes pointing in the same direction?
If not, I think it may be interesting to do so.
I am also still working with a "Rodin coil" and I think I know the effect you describe.
I have the feeling when 'wired as on the left' a big(ger) part of the energy burns up in the filament bulb (i.e. excites it), whereas when 'wired as on the right' a big(ger) part of the energy excites the space and will light an AV-plug (which will even light a bit when wired the other way round).

hmm.this is odd.....i cant seem to replicate my setup re- left & right on the diagram

both arrangments now light the bulb

            Hey all,

I have successfully setup a rodin /Bedini charge circuit...
            Will post vid shortly

              Well here it is....

YouTube - Rodin Wound 6in Ferite Core Part 4

The voltage was 9V per battery. I have hooked them all in series, for 48V. Had only 38V.
My pulse tech charger would not charge them. No matter what I did....
This curcuit brought them up very quickly. WOW!!!
And am able to power a 11W CFL too boot...

              Cheers
              Rob

                  Hi...

I managed to complete a new Rodin Coil.
In the first 10 min. of playing with it I
                  managed to light up a 20W CFL 220V with only + 13W.
                  @1Amp.

                    STUBBS !..damn you wind FAST,

hugely impressive test & setup for so quickly done, wheny you get time could you try a resistive load in place of the CFL? I think its about time for me to fill the hollow core of my rodin with ferrite or magnetite or both

                    sorry about your bad news,

                    David. D

                      Nice .

Did you always wound your coil that way?

@stubbs - amazing work and results! The ferrite is obviously beneficial Your workbench looks a lot like mine!
Very sorry to hear the other news. Life is rough sometimes, I know.

@rave - I've been watching your stuff and it's really great! Been thinking... and very interested to see where it goes!

@all - speaking of life, it's been getting in my way for a little while as far as any real tinkering is going, and I don't like posting without feeling I have something worthwhile to share. Been having great success with quick charging of 12v batteries. Blew one of the two switching power supplies I've been using with a HUGE feedback spike of some sort. Burned out the 3055's I had and so now have a 2SC5682 running and staying very cool.

More to come when I have some time to do the video thing and more measurements.

                          hi

i filled my rodin donut core with magnetite ( YUK !!!!!!! )

been playing with the 1,2,4,8,7,5 circuit... nothing to report out of the ordinary... i think maybe were going to have to wait on stubbs's setup as he seems to have stumbled upon something...im not finished by any means with the 1,2,4,8,7,5 stuff.....but...dead end so far......who knows it may end up some weird and whacky hybrid stubbs-1,2,4,8,7,5 circuit.....who knows..

certainly the combo of two rodins together seems to be producing something very interting......not to mention the original primary on the toroid producing 800V from only a 13 V input ( yeash yeah, i know VOLTS alone isnt power...but you know what i mean )

STubbs, awaiting your return.....with my PIC32 and loads of copper wire at the ready ( im sure GEM is too )

                            Hi, (Help)

I wish to put this circuit on digits so I may post them.
What SW should I use? I have Power Point and can print to *.pdf.
But do not have /cant find, elec. symbols that will benefit any circuit
                            I have in mind.

STUBB, i use circuit maker 6 , which is also a circuit simulator too....but can be used simply to draw out a circuit and then do a "screen grab" in windows ( ALT + print screen) ...then PASTE as new image in your paint software.
