  • hi all,

done a couple of comparison tests to try and figure out whats going on.

the shaded coil, is about 30 SWG.and when viewing from above and going from where the winding starts(the inside ).....to where it ends(the outside)...this coil is wound clockwise.

the coil that i hand wound that has no "effect" on the nail coil, is actually wound counter-clockwise...AH HA ! i thought...

so i quickly wound another coil clockwise like the shaded pole coil is...and tested it.....no effect !

so now i am left with only 1 difference between the shaded pole coil...and these other coils..and that is.....that the shaded pole coil is very fine wire...where as the other two coils are much thicker wire.

to test this, im going to wind a clockwise coil using 30SWG.

    • ok now im totally baffled ! ( no change there then huh )..
ive just wound a clockwise coil using very similar wire to the shaded pole coil....tested it........no effect !

what the hell is going on with this shaded pole coil !?!?!

i tested another shaded pole coil, its very similar, ever so slightly different dimensions, but 97% same..and also the same wire...cant tell what direction the windings are......and it works exactly the same as the other shaded pole coil.

Ok nice work there , some ideas , try plastic , and i would also try a copper pipe .

Do you know the axe on witch a magnet would spin in your coil?

It would help figuring the best geometry for the pickup coil .

I would try to make a spiderweb type coil to put flat on top of it.

Anyway keep the good work , very interesting stuff.

        • MK, thanks for the ideas...

will try a tube of just plastic....and also..a tube of copper

          • science demands sacrifices...soo....

i de-wound the shaded pole coil...and at various stages....tested it..to check the volatges across my loadf...and sure enough....as the windings decreased....the voltage decreased....until i got down to a single layer of windings..and.......no "effect" on the load.

so, from this...is it fair to deduce...the more turns the merrier?

            • ok,

i wound a coil, from 26SWG..... and used it in place of the Rodin..

so...i was pusling this coil, inside it was the shaded pole coil which was connected to nothing...and inside that was my nail-pickup coil

again...using the shaded pole coil..showed a drop in amp draw from the supply with an increase in volts across the load.

based upon what happened as i de-wound the other shaded pole coil....and testing it at various stages of unwinding which produced les and less volts on the load...im forced to the follwing conclusion....

a coil......rodin or otherwise..... inside of which is another coil with MANY windings of fine wire( the more the better it seems), connected to nothing, inside of which is the picup coil.

is this starting to sound a little bit....Tesla like?.... a primary of thick wire.... another coil of fine wire .......although here of course the "secondary fine wire coil" isnt connected to anything...and of course...the 3rd coil..the pickup coil.

im thinking of the classic tesla coil..with the stout primary of a few turns.....the secondary with MANY turns of fine wire.......has anyone ever left the secondary alone and connected it to nothing...and then put a 3rd coil INSIDE the secondary to see what happens?

              • Hi Rave /all,

I have completed a installation for my livingroom lighting using
                a Rodin Coil and (9x 3w 12V Led(s) for 27w total) have achieved
lighting this room brilliantly for under 15w.
The light is much easier on the eyes, but just as bright as the
                270w Halogens I had before (3ea 50w and 6ea 20w).
                What a difference....

                • Stubbs,

nice work on the installation, hopefully it will save you a buck or two

i'm still doddering around, trying this..that...and anything i can think of.... nothing "special" to report yet though

oh, i did manage to create the circuit for gem's rodini and got my 1 inch neo sphere turning like CRAZY......hell of a noise !!!!!... i had it inside a small plastic vitamins container with olive oil inside....... now i appreciate why gem wanted a way to somehow suspend the neo in the aire while turning. got a few things i want to try along those lines

                  adios for now

                    Hi all,

From the crop circles phenomena, a little design proposed (?)
A Rodin Coil with no core.

Crop Circle at Ufton, nr Southam, Warwickshire. Reported 25th June   2010.

                    Take care all,

                      Nice find.

It looks to be a lower quality one than other crop circles I've seen. More likely to be man made than others?
The design might be proposing what I've been pondering on here before : strips rather than wires. And indeed, no apparent core. Just would around an infinitely thin O-ring.

                      • iiiiiiiiiiintersting

couple of very interesting vids by Jack

YouTube - Lolo Power Neoball Spinner

YouTube - Lolo Power Remote Neoball Spinner

sure seems to be an odd "spin-down".....whenever ive watched vids of spehere neos having the power cut....you can hear in the sound the sphere slowing down.......in this case it seems to spin at the same rate ( and at times even sounds to speed up some ).....and then right at the end it just goes *poof"

am in comm's with jack to replicate, but have to wind a more difficult rodin.......grrrr

                        • I've not read much on Rodin type stuff in a few months. Latest major thing was Randy Powell's proposed amendment to Rodin's toroid number mapping, and with that, partical path around a toroid. It seemed to make sence at a higher level still that Rodin's original work. And again, it had to come from a Bahai faithful, who's really not into math or physics, go figure.
Anyway, it seems Powell may be really onto something, as his proposed math model and subsequent toroid winding pattern seem to have resulted in an interesting effect. The expected effect I'd say.
Current flows around the toroid following the path of least resistance. I get some strong Ed Leedskalnin Perpetuum Motion Holde (PMH) deja-vu's here.
It would be good to know whether, when Jack unhooks the power, in fact he keeps the circuit closed.
This invention may need to be tied into with Leedkalnin researcher David Lambright's work, he posts on here. His thread "Gravity waved found" may have a title that might be jumping the gun, but he has something. And Jack and Randy have something as well.

                          • in my humble understanding, i have to concur with randy in that the so called "standard" rodin coil is wrong..in terms of it not producing the doubling circuits correctly....but at the same time, lets not forget that marko rodin had nothing to do with the actual physical design of the coil......somebody else did that........they looked at the math.....took a stab in the dark, gave it their best shot....and came up with the so called "standard" rodin coil......all this time marko has been saying "this coil is a very crude implementation of the math"

so..hats off to randy and marko.. ( and jack ) ( and others )

if this (what jack has) turns out to be what it looks like......this is going to be staggering

                            • hi all,

Jack kindly sent me 3 piccys of his sketches of the new coils, its starting to make sense how theyre wound, just waiting for a little more help from him hopefully in the form of a quick demo video.

                              thanks jack

Maybe you can post the pics here or tell me if they are on the rodin coil google group, i signed in today, thanks.
