    50hz

Hi Ash, not sure what kind of plugs you have there so maybe
an adapter is needed. For 50Hz, I'd have to confirm but these
are sold in Europe all the time and I think they are 50Hz. There
are some sold in Japan and they work and I know for sure in
    Japan it is 50Hz.

    I'll let you know.
    Sincerely,
    Aaron Murakami

Hi Aaron that answers my Q, i thought all the Fredrick/bedini chargers were 60 hertz and 120 volt.

here we are 50 hertz 240 volt , thats good news they will work here.

        110 vs 240

        Ash,

Some of the chargers are for the higher voltage and some are not.
        The 1AU I have cannot be plugged into 240 I don't think.

The ecar and some others can be wired to the higher voltage but
the other smaller ones I think are only 110. I'm not sure how those
in Europe are using them but they are. I'll get clarification on this.
        Sincerely,
        Aaron Murakami

Hi Aaron, thanks for the info and video. Do you know if the 1au charger you showed in the video uses the cap discharge method or flyback diode type. I remember once i thought you said you heard it clicking away and was wondering if thats what the 1au does also. Thanks.
          peace love light

            charger style

            Hi Tyson,

I don't think I heard it clicking but on bigger batts, it will hum a little louder
but that is straining it a bit I think.

I'm not sure what is in my particular charger. I got this 1AU last summer I
think so whatever was available then.
            Sincerely,
            Aaron Murakami

                Guys,

The RC-1AU comes in two versions. There is a 110v 60Hz and a 220v 50Hz model. It's the same charger wired differently. The 220v model comes without a power cord. You need to use a computer type power cord with the right plug according to your country. r-charge sells both models.

The RC-2A12 has a universal laptop type power supply that runs on 100 to 240v 50/60Hz. So it's good to go anywhere in the world. This is the one that clicks the batteries!
                They are both amazing chargers.

                  1AU Universal Charger

Thanks Martin, I learn something new every day!

So it is automatic that when an order comes in, Rick
just sends the right one for the right location. Most
people I dealt with lived in the states.

I just got another car battery tonight. I should NOT
be charging it with the 1AU like I have been so this
will be another extreme test. Get the correct charger
for car batteries if it is car batteries that you really
want to charge: Tesla Chargers | Products

The battery I just got is a dead battery that won't start
a car anymore. Came out of a late 80's or early 90's Ford
Taurus. It won't hold a charge anymore from a charger
and of course the alternator won't keep it charged. So,
for most people it is doomed for the scrap yard. The owner
let me have it instead of trading it in for core charge
discount on a new battery (usually about $10).

I'm going to clean it up, make sure the water level is up
and will measure the voltage. I'll then do some charge/
discharge cycles and see what happens. If it charges up
and can turn over a car good, I'll use it to try to start
up and move an old car I have (1972 Datsun 240z)
that I wrecked about 13 years ago corner drifting

Anyway, I'll take some pics and video of this battery
test. Again, the 1AU is NOT intended for car batteries.
Use the right charger - this is going to be another
extreme endurance test for this charger. By the way,
the fuse has never popped one single time on all the
tests I have done since last spring/summer and I have
used it on a LOT of batteries and quite a few were
much bigger than what the charger is rated for. This
doesn't mean I recommend people using it anyway for
big batts, just that it has held up to some serious
nasty abuse and nothing has phased it yet!

And to let everyone know, my charger has paid for
itself in battery savings a few times over in less than
1 year. Maybe 9 months or something like that.

At $70 for a car battery (and that is not the best),
rejuvenating just a handful pays for the charger!
                  Sincerely,
                  Aaron Murakami
