    "Of course, right now the project is, at least in part, being funded privately by John Doerr, who has indicated that it would be at least nine years before an IPO would be considered. Bloom Energy has been trucking away for about seven to eight years, so there’s some argument as to whether or not Doerr meant that an IPO would be considered after the nine years of innovation, or nine years from now."

    I'm only speculating, but I can easily see how a system like this could produce the current required to fracture enough the HHO gas from water to drive the system if the Hydroxy gas were adjusted with ambient air and could be used to run the Bloom box. I guess this also depends on the devices real rate of efficiency, but it sounds very efficient.
    Promising.

      couldn't edit previous post so i doubled up. :P

      broli, i've seen enough HHO produced at low enough wattage input to believe that , provided it could be converted to hydroxy we could have a solution to the use of Hydroxy on the homefront. Once again i say that it is just speculation. With out more information it is tough to know either way.

I suspect he has different models to run on solar, etc. or the current model can be adapted to any fuel source. As the fuel and air going in appear to be totally consumed in the chemical process and the only product of the cell is electricity, what pollution?
        Fuel cell need hydrogen to work, just like mentioned by broli. Hydrogen corrode metal and may make micro leak. If oxygen from air enter this leak, the chance of exploding increase since the reaction of H2 and O2 is known to be violance .

        Pollution comes from the industry that produce hydrogen. It is not likely they are green now. It is cheaper to produce hydrogen with fossil fuel now.

          To all who have posted here;

          I am as skeptical of Bloom Energy as anyone here and I respect your opinions which may all prove to be correct.
          However, they have managed to get a new concept off the drawing board and into a working, salable product that delivers as promised and certainly produces electricity better in many ways than anything else currently available.
          Since we don't know exactly how it works I don't think it should be judged, much less condemned, on the basis of older, existing technology.
          As I said before, let's just give it time and see what develops. We might at least learn something useful from the rocket scientist, if nothing else.
