Hi petersone, you cannot cancel a magnetic field by putting 2 permanent magnets together, the fields are still there, but what happens to the fields is the point. take 2 permanents and put them in repulsion together and you still have a field on the other side, now put more magnets on one stack and the leave just one magnet on other and on the other side of the one magnet is next to no field, the field didnt get canceled it just diverted to somewhere. That is what is interesting here, the flux diverting aspect and as you say how much power it takes to do so may have value, or not.

Maybe I didn't put it very well, what I ment was if the domains in the iron are forced one way by the pm,and the opposite way by the em,they cancel,unless they are at each end of the iron,then they are forced into the middle,having just written that has given me an idea for a test.If it's any good I will let you know tomorow.Bed time now 12.30.

Hi synchro, thanks for reply. Yes i have a feeling you are correct and the work of magnacoaster highlights this. There probably is a window within which a solid state device will create the ping pong multiplication effect that magnacoaster inventor speaks of. Though in his setup, he has a standard generator setup with the added magnet stack at back of generator coil as i am showing. My theory is that he needs a battery that is dead but is acting like a capacitor which was created from the pulses from his pulse motor and when the resonance is found it multiplies the output. I think he is saying his generator coil is in resonance with his lead acid battery that now acts like an electret. Let me know what you folks think.

coil core.

Choice of coil core material makes all the difference. Hi permeability materials make the best coil cores. The highest is the Metglass alloy, with a permeability of one million over the vaccuum of free space. I don't see anywhere in the Magnacoaster patent where they specify their selection of coil core material, but one can see from the cost per foot, a coil core made from that material might cost thousands of dollars. One has to weigh the economic sense of spending that much against what the cost of photo voltaic arrays might be output per penny. Maybe that helps explain why no one has seen them market anything practical.
