I don't know how high the voltmeters can go though there is no way I'm running this without a load! It has already blown two MJL21194 transistors and they aren't cheap!

Yes, I understand the risk, I understand if you don't try it. My curiosity cost me 5 computer fan ...
I found that the PNP is the most vulnerable part in my circuit. I think MOSFET would fry instantly without load.
This circuit teach me that 240V part of a transformer is not 240V anymore in radiant oscillator, it would have high enough voltage to make spark gap. If the 9V primary have >2000V then the 240V part would surely more than 240V .
Sucayo, if you want a reliable consistent means of measuring the CFL output, in terms of brightness, you should go to a local hydroponics store and buy one of the $10-20 light meters. Then you just set the sensor in a fixed spot and assess the normal output level vs. the levels that you modify with your circuit.

Thanks, I can not afford that. Besides I doubt it is available in Surabaya.
I notice that at lower frequency, the light is more violet. At resonance it flicker at brighter than ceiling. Same brightness appear before resonance frequency.
Charging almost full broken (10V) battery result in 57% efficiency.
Just you wait till I get those transistors replaced
looking good

thanks for sharing sucahyo, with picture looks simple!
just a question for you, do you know what is the complementary PNP transistor of your KSC5027? a need too pass high current and voltage true my circuit! but the transistor must be PNP,
I don't think you need to use KSC5027. MJL29114/MJL29113 is much better. However, just to see if the circuit can work with cheap transistor, I will make the TIP31C + TIP32C one and see how it compare with the KSC5027 one.
Important: Nvisser notify me that the PNP leg I post in diagram is wrong.
