Hi all.
I typed this yesterday but accidently deleted it.

@Jedijs, My magnets come from a guy I met who was building a model T ford.
The first layer of magnets sticks to the metal base of my wheel and the second layer sticks to the top ring of the wheel but not to the first layer of magnets. So 1/2 the magnet flux goes down and 1/2 goes up....more or less.
Imagine this dotted line as the top metal ring.

You can see where the flux goes as shown above.

@Harvey, I"m not sure why the clover leaf is there but it could have something to do with the flux going up and down?
I'll have to wait until I get more layers on to test things out.
To charge my magnets I now use a setup similar to the drawing you posted.

In the attatched pic you can see my charging setup and some other bits and pieces...a brass ring and my aluminum pmh. (which is solid cast, not a seperate keeper.)

Can someone point me where to buy those V magnets for fort T model? As far as I know those are ALNICO. Harvey posted a link long time ago, but I am not sure if you can really buy magnets there because they only send you recharged magnets if you send them your used ones back. I don't even have used ones.

Hey Jedijs, You will have to find people who work on vintage cars.
The guy I found knew another guy who had a shed on a farm...yada yada....and that's how I got all mine.

There was some for sale on E-bay last year. Someone was selling the whole replica of Ed's wheel!
I suppose it's a matter of luck, but they are out there.

the PMH in ice is a very good idea

and here the result in pix.

I placed my PMH charged in a small and long plastic container with some tap water. And put all in the freezer.
2 hours later very interesting result.

It seems there is a vortex ring around each pole. The vortex are mixing in the midlle of the PMH and are pushing the ice higher than it should be normally. The vortex effect is also visible on each side of the PMH. so in pix 2 and4 you see the 3 waves. A big one in the middle and two smaller on each side. On pix 3 you see the vortex from above.

On pix 1 i have pushed the contrast to better see the cut view of the vortex ring (so far it is vortex ?)

If you have a colloidal silver maker, use distilled water to make the colloidal silver using the hot water method. Boil you water and then put it in a glass container where you produce your colloidal silver. No salt needed. Then freeze it. Should turn out clearer.

Can you do it with higher level? Because I think water show something similar to iron powder on magnet although it work not just on magnetism.

Can you take the picture of ice in front of ambient light or dark background? the first one show it better.

See if you can notice air bubble, you may need to increase water level for this. My camera do not have zoom so I can not show it clearly but the bubble is near the top part but bellow many small double helix air column:
