i am the oldest of 13 children, i have 6 brothers and 6 sisters...ben has not seen any of this or has not said any thing as of yet....ben, i believe is the only brother that has not seen this with his own eyes...being schooled in modern physics, he must be skeptical....i am going to take my device to a local university, to see they would like to run a few tests....and jet, i will build another model so you also can test, but you might have to wait a couple weeks extra. jet, thanks for all of your effort on your replication, just remember these effects are very subtle but they are there ....david

Good stuff

      Hey Harvey,

You forgot to mention to David there is not only a "LIVE" venue at Open Source Research and Development ..... BUT it has a "interactive" chat room going on at the same time as the broadcast ..... can't beat that !!!

David, do you think you will go to the University of Oregon in Eugene? I have some friends in Springfield and I should see if they know any of the staff there. Sounds like a good idea to get a University to look at it ALSO I think Glen's live broadcast Is GREAT idea too.....give it some thought

            Is Bruce ok?

Bruce is a member of Overunity.com and has been active over there. He logs in, but does not post. He was last active on July 19, 2010. His last post was on June 26, 2010. This is extremely out of character for Bruce. The only reason to login and not make any posts for such a long period of time is to read private messages.

I agree with Dave about something not being right. I pray he and his family is OK. Here is Bruce's last post on OU.com.

              • This is sad.
I guess the explanation could be that he found out something new about the device and does not want to share. Maybe he found out how to use the effect. I don't know and hope I am wrong. But if I am not, then this is just wrong.
David, no problems, I am willing to wait a few weeks.
I myself am now stuck with shortage of info about tool steel grades and types. I need to know what the best type is that retains the magnetism the best, after that I could try finding such material and get it laser cut. Of course no one at local metal suppliers has a clue about tool steels magnetic properties.

                Thanks!

It's better to wear off by working than to rust by doing nothing.

This post is from June 19 when Bruce says he is traveling. June 26, he says he is moving and the computer is not yet connected. He is last active on July 19. Why hasn't he posted at OU.com or here? I have seen him active on OU.com at other times between June 26 and July 19. This doesn't add up to me.

Perhaps he is checking in using his phone or some other system but cannot easily post. I certainly hope things are ok.

I recall we had a different fellow in another forum take ill and this same type of thing is what happened, his wife had taken him printouts of his PM's to the hospital and it was over 3 months before he recovered well enough to start posting again. But his wife did post in between to tell us he was hospitalized.

I hope this is not the case with Bruce.

Jetijs, are you so comfortable using laser cutting in the context of magnetic properties? Lots of heat involved, I would say? Would the material not change? Laser cutting is nice and neat, but my gut feeling is to cut it up as cold as possible. I may be seeing problems where there are none.

If anything the heat may return the ferromagnetic material to a virginal state, like Ed's Sweet 16. AC or hitting the ferro material with a hammer are other ways to return the ferro to a virginal state. Start watching around 32 minutes of this MIT video on the various ways a ferromagnetic material can be returned to it's virginal state.

                          • Hi all.
This week at my work I noticed something very strange that reminded me of this thread.
By blind chance I found myself in a setting where I could more or less SEE THE AIR AS A GAS! Not like on a hot day, but like a real swirling gas.

I was in my workshop with the lights on and it was dark outside.
There is a window with vertical louvers on the North side and then the street further out.
The louvers were open about 1/3 and across the street to the N/E there was a truck with it's lights shining into my workshop, so that when I looked at the lights the louvers in front of me were about 1/3 overlapped.
The louvers are also dirty with wood dust.

Now I was standing about 3 feet behind the louvers and when I looked through at the truck lights across the street I could suddenly see a gasseous "substance" in the line of my vision.

I think somehow the louvers and the light from the truck acted in such a way that I could see this "substance" which I suppose was the air?
As soon as the truck moved the effect was gone
It was truly fascinating, and like a real gas swirling around in 3D.
I had to look in a certain spot but it lasted long enough for me to be captivated and try different angles of sight, but then the truck moved and it was gone.....back to invisibility!

I've seen the youtube vids showing how sneezing affects the air and what I saw was very similar but less refined.
It was after all, simply by sheer chance...but it was very cool to witness.

I'm wondering if I could replicate the conditions here at home?
                            Scotty.

                            • Scotty. The lights from the truck were just illuminating the dust and or water vapor (humidity) in the air of the workshop (workshops do tend to be dusty). You didn't actually see the air itself, you just saw the light reflecting off particulates suspended in the air. Think headlights reflecting off of fog at night. I've seen the same thing from the diffuse smoke of an incense stick in early morning/late evening sunlight coming through the windows. The early morning sunlight caused the same effect through the windows of the dusty humid hangar I worked in at the airport in Liberia.

You can replicate the conditions at home by burning a stick of incense, turning out the lights and shining a flashlight thru the smoky air or just use a pot/kettle of boiling water instead.

                              • also bare in mind, that your eyes have a swirling fluid flowing across them (tears), partially impregnated with minute dust etc.

i have "seen" this swirling effect that youve mentioned and it was "in front of" my eyes..but not what i was looking at....kind of describe it like when you look through petrol vapours.
