Longer pipes IMHO wont do very well, because even at this length I can see some very small gaps between some of the segments, between some segments the hap is at the middle and between other at the ends. Longer pipes will do the same. I think that this is because of lack of sanding perfection or deformations of the pipe segment due compressing. Anyway, I intend to get some very big diameter clamps (I don't know the correct term) like this:
and use them to compress the pieces together very very tightly, I am sure this will make the contact much better and there wont be any gaps anymore. This will sure compress the pieces together better than the zip ties I am using now. I will use these to compress the pieces tightly and then use ordinary zip ties or some other method to fix the pieces in this condition permanently and remove the metal clamp so that it wont interfere with the operation of the device
