People "think" a lot of things.
Really, there is not a lot of difference.
Americans also think that "they" won the war (WWII).
Yet people don't even really understand what it was and why it occurred (but most "think" they do because they took the subject in school and read some books and/or watched a bunch of propaganda films).
Now things come to pass and people are so surprised and shocked.
Yet it has been talked about for decades, yet dismissed as the raving of nut-jobs.
That's what happens when one drinks the kool-aid.
Now people are somewhat waking up to certain things.
It isn't going to be pleasant.

Here is an interesting campaign just getting started, to force BP to AT LEAST allow the workers in the Gulf to wear Respirators (My God, THIS campaign is even needed?? What a bizarro corporate-controlled world this has become).

There is a subtle fight going on here that is way beyond the stated goal.

The reason that the national mainstream media is not reporting on these dangers, why BP doesn't want images of respirators on the news (and the reporters are being kept away), the reason we never hear the word "Benzene" in the national MSM....

Is the "bigger picture".. The greater concept of "Oil As A Poison" in general, even after this Disaster ends somehow. The energy cartel have successfully kept this topic out of the public consciousness for decades... Even all those thousands of deaths of Exxon Valdez workers... Which except for this latest Disaster, WE NEVER WOULD HAVE HEARD ABOUT. Then we also had the Gulf War I syndrome, which was mainly caused by burning oil too (in Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia). And the other disasters in Africa and the Amazon Basin, which less than 1% of the US population even knew about. So far, they have successfully deflected or suppressed these obvious examples of the danger "every-day oil" , even without the added dangers of Dispersants, causes all the time around the world.

Like the studies about how dangerous and cancer-causing Diesel fumes in cities are.

If the wider Public considers just how poisonous the concept of "oil" is, because of the greater awareness that the Gulf Disaster brings... This is a very dangerous situation for the energy cartels. It makes millions more call for alternatives, SERIOUS PLANS for alternatives, not the facade jokes like have now. It raises an anger that is not just about prices, like in 2008 (that evaporated as soon as the prices lowered again), but that goes much deeper... Even to the point of being "instinctual... Because it brings us to the question of our very survival. You want to get a sleepy couch potato's attention: Show him PROOF that he could die.

This, imo, is what this campaign attempting to tap in to. They are taking it one step at a time, and not taking on the real issue, which is not the two thousand or so "clean up workers".. but the 30 million or so area residents "down-wind" who are put at risk every day they burn the oil / dispersant mix out at the site of the BP Gulf Disaster. Some of this is because they want it to be publicized in the MSM (which if they talked about the wider health issue IT WOULD NOT BE).

They are going to let "us" tumble to that larger risk and conclusion ourselves.

Not sure i agree with this tactic, because to me another very real and pressing danger is to RESIDENTS, but maybe this will work too. For that i think it will be highly interesting to watch.

"Million Man March" to the Gulf

Sounds like it's time for a million people with respirators and cameras to
march straight to the beach asserting their rights and demanding to know
what is happening and taking plenty of videos and pictures. The more the
merrier.

Maybe some of the groups, independent media, etc... can collaborate to

This shows that there is no legislative measure to secure worker health (despite the already prior knowledge) there is no LAW on work place and safety for oil spill workers, Exxon hide their records till 2020, every one is in every ones pockets, this is why we need the charter, this lady warns about not to work on the oil spill, they dont warn you as to WHY, ask why.

Why is that? Please vote to help start a corporation charter.

Aaron, you are right bud. I've been thinking about a similar concept, that is a huge flotilla of fishing and pleasure boats going out to the site of the burning and demanding it stop, and stopping it ourselves if they refuse.

But it would not be a "protest"... Everyone would hold a hand-written Writ for Citizen's Arrest... That states the illegal burning that causes a HUGE public health danger either be stopped, or all those doing it be arrested.

I don't think they could suppress this flotilla of several hundred boats... Meaning the subject would FINALLY have to be addressed, and MENTIONED FOR THE FIRST TIME, in the US national mainstream media, and the DAY that happens, you can bet the burning will stop.

The way things are looking, that appears the only way to get it done. And if it doesn't stop, the result is ANOTHER huge disaster for the LAND ecology, on top of the marine one... Not to mention millions being sickened, and many deaths.

THESE ARE NOT CONSPIRACIES FOLKS.. BUT VERY REAL HEALTH HAZARDS every day that they burn the highly toxic dispersant/oil mix using primitive methods of open-air burning that only destroys FIFTEEN PERCENT (or less) of the poisons, and lofts the rest up into the Stratosphere.

Here's what the hand-written Writ for Citizen's Arrest could state:

It appears that our government agencies who should be doing this themselves, have been co-opted and are ineffective. Sounds good, Steve, but would this be utilized as a press release or submitted directly to the perpetrators at the BP spill site? If the aim is to deliver it to the perpetrators, and then to begin arresting them if they fail to stop the burning, I think it will be a nearly impossible task to carry out. First you would have to get past the Coast Guard, and other government vessels who are patrolling the area, and who will carry out orders to protect the perpetrators by any means necessary. This could include firing warning shots, boarding vessels and seizing or scuttling them, and arresting individuals who disobey orders to leave the site. And with no media allowed anywhere near the site, none of this would be seen by the public. Anyone bringing along a camcorder, and getting close enough to the action to get any good documentary evidence, would have their equipment confiscated and/or their recording media destroyed. The government's press release to the corporate mainstream media, following the event, would of course make the citizen flotilla out to be a bunch of crazed lunatics who are interfering with cleanup efforts and thus making the situation worse. And most of the sheeple would probably believe that line of BS. Further, it would then give the government an excuse to officially impose martial law in the Gulf region states. Unofficially, of course, they have already done that. With government and BP controlling state and local law enforcement officials, even if it were possible to invoke citizen arrests of the perpetrators and deliver them to law enforcement officials, the perpetrators would be immediately released and safely escorted back to the spill site to carry out their loathsome task, while the arresting citizens would find themselves taken into custody and detained for an indeterminate period of time.

The only way I can possibly see such an effort having a positive impact would be to carry it out with the assistance of some trustworthy and courageous journalists who have the equipment to show, via live feed to a network, exactly what transpires. Problem is, what network would dare to broadcast this even if it can be pulled off, and what other networks would rebroadcast it? And live feeds rely either on satellite communications or other transmission which can be immediately jammed, or cut off, by those who possess an appropriate kill switch. I think we can safely assume that those who would thwart citizen and media efforts already have contingency plans and equipment in place.

Any ideas on how these problems can be circumvented? I love the idea, but is it a practical possibility?

You are correct in that there is little chance of actually getting out the burning site, the CG or even Navy would try to stop it immediately; because they would certainly know all about it in advance. They would probably be in a line right outside the harbor mouth where it was staged to start. But THE POINT is the attempt. Because, the whole endeavor would be heavily publicized before hand.

There will be private aircraft in immediate area near port with cams, satellite links on a few of the boats, and "actual" media on some of them (some local TV news, foreign reporters, and independent journalists).

If there are over say, 3,000 people on these boats (as Shrimpers and such can hold a couple dozen.. and there are literally THOUSANDS of shrimpers and other fishing craft in the area to work with let alone all the private pleasure boats and charters), it will be not easy to suppress. And remember, the people of the immediately area are affected most.. Who KNOW these dangerous health risks are BEING SUPPRESSED, and they will be the ones most likely to sign-up for this; from dozens of ports on the Gulf.

This action would cause a

HUGE

problem for the corporate-owned mainstream media, BP, and the government. They cannot even MENTION this flotilla of what would essentially be a mass act of Civil Disobedience... without ALSO mentioning what is causing it. It would simply be implausible and impossible not to... Because several million will already know the truth.

You cannot say that these people are "pirates" or "vandals" it makes no sense. Not only that, but there would be in advance, hundreds of mentions of it all over the web, and FOREIGN PRESS RELEASES that state the day it is happening and so forth, and EXACTLY WHY it is happening.

And as you rightly suggest, the "Writs of Citizens Arrest" or similar statements would be published on the web well before hand, in the initial "recruiting" and organizing stages.

This is an example of what is called "Brinksmanship"... You must "go to the edge" to shake up things enough to get action. But it only works if it is not a "bluff". The intent must be actual. And it would be.

The most probable result from a serious and credible response on this, where there really are several hundred boats preparing to go out, and thousands more folks traveling to join in and get on board....

Is the stopping of the burning FIRST BEFORE IT HAPPENS. Because, they will decide it is ALREADY too "risky" to suppress the incredibly dangerous Public Health Risks any more, on top of having THIS to deal with as well, which PROVES they were deliberately suppressing it... Something they DON'T WANT to happen, as it could eventually land media executives IN PRISON.

And as i have said all along... This is ALL ABOUT BP not having to pay the extra cash to process it properly.. using closed very high-heat incinerating chambers with exhaust scrubbers to get rid of this hideous mess SAFELY (or using the usual fractional distillation methods of a Refinery).

They can ONLY GET AWAY WITH IT... As long as their buddies in the national mainstream media refuse to report on the dangers.

THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY HERE AT ALL.. EVERYTHING about the dangers is fully and EASILY scientifically proved. This is the one reason i have been yelling at all you guys and saying this multiple places all over the web, the side-tracking and confusion from these conspiracies is not useful and counter productive when we have IRREFUTABLE PROOFS to work with...
