Have they explained / deturmined the cause?

Rumour was awhile ago, that it was a Submarine attack..? All has gone quiet on that front...?

      However you are exactly correct.

Pffft. It was no attack, an attack of greed perhaps.

Im with you on this one Ash, this makes me livid. If I was to go and dump a bunch of junk on the roadside and was caught, Id be betting I would be responsible to clean it up and pay a fine. So it shouldnt be any different for BP yeah? Clean up your mess, till its ALL gone, then pay your fine.

Problem is, its gonna kill our planets oceans even if they could clean it up. Im not sure if everyone realizes the magnitude of this.

A very sobering read can be found here:

        Declaring War On The Universe?

        A few quick quotes:

"It only takes one quart of motor oil to make 250,000 gallons of ocean water toxic to wildlife."

"First fact, the original estimate was about 5,000 gallons of oil a day spilling into the ocean. Now they're saying 200,000 gallons a day. That's over a million gallons of crude oil a week!"

"the contamination of the oceans that has begun in the Gulf of Mexico will spread directly into the Gulf Stream which will be carried around the world"

        Anyone like fishing? Water sports?

Better get out there over the next few weeks and get your fix, cause it aint gonna be there soon.

"When natural realities are ignored or held-hostage to favor illicit profits over the survival of the universal balances; for something as temporary and proprietary as the illicit-private-profits of the few, over the absolute necessity of global continuity for the entire planet: Then the world must act to end this practice. Basic services such as water, fuel and food are too important to everyone to ever be left to the whims of privatized-business ventures and their twisted designs to enslave the human race. "

        Regards

PS: The other thing that pisses me off? For perhaps the greatest enviromental disaster seen in our lifetimes there is very little of it on the news. You see all this crap about fashion week this and Tiger Woods that, but wheres the story on the DEATH of our oceans? Bloody media.....

I wanted BP out and have for years. Whos fault is this? Its the greedy, ignorant politicians who voted for off shore drilling and without any safety plans in place before they drilled. I would boycott any of their gas stations.

This is incredibly sad, there's no words to describe what impact this is going to have on all of us. Ash it wouldn't matter if they got fined or not they won't be able to clean this up and any fine they pay won't bring back what it will take. Say hello to the 7th sign of the Hopi prophecy "You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it.". While it's not literally turning black we all know what another name for oil, black gold. We will have our day!

Don't worry too much about that 5000 barrels a day pouring into the gulf and killing everything in it's proximity because recent "polls" say that the majority of Americans still support offshore drilling.

There are reports of tar balls washing up on the beach at Dauphin Island Alabama. This was the most beautiful white sand beach I've ever seen. Was good fishing for flounder from that beach.

The suppression of free energy is directly responsible for this mess. BP wouldn't have been drilling that well if clean, renewable technologies had been allowed to be developed.
We're all on this planet together. What we do affects everyone else. If we fail to eradicate the NWO cancer, we will all suffer. Wars, economic depressions, famine and ecological disasters can all be traced directly back to the ruling elite. They're a festering tumor that has to be eradicated from body of humanity.
Inventors and scientists who have allowed themselves to be threatened into silence out of fear, greed, or the misguided belief that mankind isn't ready for free energy, also share some of the blame. How long are you guys going to sit on the technology that could have prevented this BP disaster? How long are you going to turn your back on your fellow man so that you can enjoy a brief period of false security?
Even if you don't have the cojones to come out in person, an anonymous PDF to the right sources would suffice. Your silence is killing all of us!

Original story? Andy Borowitz: Goldman Sachs Reveals it Shorted Gulf of Mexico

                      Deepwater Horizon: Capturing The Planet!

                      by Jim Kirwan

                      May 6, 2010

The day has finally come for the literal confrontation with the Corporation- States of the planet. When the Deepwater-Horizon project did what it was supposed to do in order to make all that much more money for the criminals; by massively failing to bring in their well in the Gulf of Mexico-the final chapter in relations between the hostile elites and the rest of us took center stage.

"New York: In what is looming as another public-relations predicament for Goldman Sachs, the banking giant admitted that "it made a substantial financial bet against the Gulf of Mexico" one day before the sinking of an oil rig in that body of water.

The new revelations came to light after government investigators turned up new emails from Goldman employee Fabrice "Fabulous Fab" Tourre in which he bragged to a girlfriend that the firm was taking a 'big short' position on the Gulf.

"One oil rig goes down and we're going to be rolling in dough, Mr. Torre wrote in one email. "Suck it fishes and birdies!""
                      (1)

NOTE: *StreetInsider. com reported on April 30 in their "Top 10" recap for that week:* SEE BELOW

Picture the blue-earth of this planet caught in a giant bear-trap from which there can be no escape. When the castles of the earth are confronted with the pollution of the seas as they are in this image of La Mer above, then there will be virtually nothing spared from this malevolent scam that was designed to both make a ton of money and to make the survivability of the planet impossible.

This sounds cynical but the dye was literally cast from the moment that the platform was blown up and the oil began to gush from an undersea volcano of oil and gas that will only grow larger while it pollutes the oceans of the world with the 210,000 gallons of oil and gas that keeps on increasing with every passing day.

The scale of the damage is under a press blackout but as of May first this was the situation:

"NASA satellite photos taken on March 1st, 2010 reveal that the oil slick from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill show that the Gulf oil spill size has
now grown to be larger than Florida.

University of Miami oceanographer Nick Shay tells us that the oil spill has already entered the Loop Current. The loop current pushes into the Gulf in a clockwise swirl, spilling into the Straits of Florida through the Keys and then back north in the Gulf Stream up the Atlantic coast.

Robert Weisberg , an oceanographer at the University of South Florida, says the bulk of the spill is now only 30 miles north of the Loop current and estimates that the oil spill will hit North Caroline in as little as two weeks." (2)

Once the contamination reaches the Gulf Stream the pollution from the hole punched in the earth by BP's Deepwater Horizon and the failure of Halliburton to correctly seal the pipeline; then this catastrophe will begin to make its way around the world's oceans with nothing to hinder the massive die-offs in the oceans and the destructive imbalance this will create-for everyone worldwide!

Halliburton May Be Culprit In Oil Rig Explosion

Giant oil-services provider Halliburton may be a primary suspect in the investigation into the oil rig explosion that has devastated the Gulf Coast, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Though the investigation into the explosion that sank the Deepwater Horizon site is still in its early stages, drilling experts agree that blame probably lies with flaws in the "cementing" process -- that is, plugging holes in the pipeline seal by pumping cement into it from the rig. Halliburton was in charge of cementing for Deepwater Horizon.

"The initial likely cause of gas coming to the surface had something to do with the cement," said Robert MacKenzie, managing director of energy and natural resources at FBR Capital Markets and a former cementing engineer in the oil industry.

The problem could have been a faulty cement plug at the bottom of the well, he said. Another possibility would be that cement between the pipe and well walls didn't harden properly and allowed gas to pass through it.
                      The possibility of Halliburton'

s culpability was first reported Monday by HuffPost's Marcus Baram.
According to a lawsuit filed in federal court by Natalie Roshto, whose husband Shane, a deck floor hand, was thrown overboard by the force of the explosion and whose body has not yet been located, Halliburton is culpable for its actions prior to the incident.

The suit claims that the company "prior to the explosion, was engaged in cementing operations of the well and well cap and, upon information and belief, improperly and negligently performed these duties, which was a cause of the explosion."

And Congressman Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, sent a tough letter on Friday to Halliburton, asking for an explanation of its work on the rig, according to a spokesperson for the committee.

Last year, Halliburton was also implicated for its cementing work prior to a massive blowout off the coast of Australia, where a rig caught on fire and spewed hundreds of thousands of gallons into the sea for ten weeks.
In that incident, workers apparently failed to properly pump cement into the well, according to Elmer Danenberger, former head of regulatory affairs for the U.S. Minerals Management Service, who testified to an Australian commission probing that accident.

"The problem with the cementing job was one of the root causes in the Australian blowout," Danenberger told Huffington Post, adding that the rig crew didn't pick up on indications of an influx of fluids coming back in after they cemented the casing. "The crew didn't pick up on them and didn't take action."

Halliburton declined to return a detailed request for comment from Huffington Post.

The company did issue a press release responding to reports about its work on the rig:

As one of several service providers on the rig, Halliburton can confirm the following:

-- Halliburton performed a variety of services on the rig, including cementing,
and had four employees stationed on the rig at the time of the accident. Halliburton's employees returned to shore safely, due, in part, to the brave rescue efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard and other organizations.

-- Halliburton had completed the cementing of the final production casing string in accordance with the well design approximately 20 hours prior to the incident. The cement slurry design was consistent with that utilized in other similar applications.

-- In accordance with accepted industry practice approved by our customers, tests demonstrating the integrity of the production casing string were completed.

-- At the time of the incident, well operations had not yet reached the point requiring the placement of the final cement plug which would enable the planned temporary abandonment of the well, consistent with normal oilfield practice.

-- We are assisting with planning and engineering support for a wide range of options designed to secure the well, including a potential relief well.
Halliburton continues to assist in efforts to identify the factors that may have lead up to the disaster, but it is premature and irresponsible to speculate on any specific causal issues.

Halliburton originated oilfield cementing and leads the world in effective, efficient delivery of zonal isolation and engineering for the life of the well, conducting thousands of successful well cementing jobs each year. The company views safety as critical to its success and is committed to continuously improve performance.

Here is the letter from Waxman to Halliburton:

                          Blowout Preventer Faulty

                          Hi Guys,

Here is an article from the BBC about the testimony by various oil executives concerning the possible causes of the disaster at the Deepwater Horizon.

BBC News - Deepwater Horizon blowout preventer 'faulty' - Congress

This article verifies that the explosion was caused by a bubble of high pressure methane rising up the well and getting past the final Blowout Preventer because it had both a hydraulic leak AND a dead battery!

The testimony goes on to reveal that the Blowout Preventers have 260 possible failure modes!!! Mind boggling!

This article also shows that Senator John Kerry is using this incident to modify and push through the new Climate Change legislation.

Its amazing the kind of news you can't find from US sources.

Again a huge human disaster, and no Muslim in sight. Just greedy Americans who the world owes them for something, and it's OK whatever they do, because it's them.

Oil comps still make billions in profits, and we don't hear all of it. I have ideas to prevent such disasters, but they'll require pro-active investment in oil spill containment. It will not happen.

Oil is harmful, that's why earth keeps it in.
Let BP invest the same as their fine will amount to, in actual grassroots free energy projects. And impose further restrictions on Shell, Exxon, et al.
The only good to come from this, is that we'll run out of oil sooner, and we'll look at windmills and current turbine sooner. We don't have a use for 99% of the free energy our earth offers us.
