  • what type epoxy to glue magnets in Nylon

    hello guys

    i am about to get my disk cut out of Nylon
    the holes are press fit but now i don't no what type of Epoxy i need
    to use to glue the magnets in place (high power neodymium 2ins/1ins)

    You should be alright with nylon since it is more flexible, though I have used epoxy to glue the magnets into one of my acrylic rotors and it must have expanded because it cracked it

    I think Jetijs has had similar experience when he was building his attraction motors.

    Now I use super glue, though not sure how that will react with Nylon...

    Hopefully someone here will have experience working with nylon. you are right to be cautious

      Epoxy will not bond to nylon, in boat building nylon cloth (peel ply) is used to give a good surface finish, because it can be applied to wet epoxy surfaces and will easily peel off when the epoxy has cured.

      Better off with a mechanical method of fixing!
