  • nice build.

I really hope it works for you..!

Anyway, it is a lovely build Jiffycoil.

I can easily see that you are a fairly good "Tesla coil builder".

Thanks for the kind words. As far as I can see it does transfer energy via single wire. It does work in that respect. As a coil design I find it fascinating. Now whether or not it generates more energy than it gets remains to be seen. I will take my time and post results responsibly. I will tell you it was a blast to build and not to costly.

      • Would you try to replicate Donald Smith Setup.

        To : Jiffycoil

Very nice work. I recently research about Donald Smith Set-up.
In my point of view his set-up was not fake. Some people report partial succeed replicate. Check it out below links.
The user name "tranbinhtran" report very considerable succeed.

Also I looking for 1996 ExtraOrdinary Magazine Volume VIII Issue 2, 4.
Donald Smith mention that magazine at the 1996 Tesla Symposium.
Anybody have a copy of the magazines ?
I try to search internet, But I couldn't find any information about that.

        • Thanks Luishan,
I try to approach all of these devices with an open mind. I think many times replicators can get discouraged because the replication they built of a design they found in pictures or on the web don't seem to work. I think many times the device really doesn't work as the inventor claimed. Also sometimes the inventor doesn't include small details in the published material that need to be used for the device to work as claimed. I think sometimes the inventor wants us to do a little work to understand the device. I always look at these devices and try to understand firstly how it can do what it actually does. Then move forward from that point. This device does transfer energy by one wire so from this point I will proceed.

            • Mini Kapagen

I thought why I'm at it I may as well build a smaller version of the Kapagen. I constructed the coil tonight. I also started the Light board assembly for testing of the larger unit.

                Hi Jiffycoil,

Your building technique, workmanship, is awesome. Thanks for sharing the photos. I also like the use of the pvc tubing and the pvc end caps.

                • Thank you kindly. I do enjoy building and I hope to provide as best a replication as possible.

                  • Light Board progress

I installed the JES 230 volt surge arresters across the terminals of each socket tonight. I drilled a hole through the side of the socket then feed the arrester assembly through the hole and attached it across the terminals. This may be overkill but J. Naudin used them so I figure they can't hurt from keeping any transient spikes from coming back through the light assembly (or greatly decrease them).

                    • Measurment tools

I mounted the Killawatt meter into a PVC box and hard wired it to make it more effective for the Kapagen measurements. This is one of three devices I'll use to measure input and output from and to the Kapagen generator.

                            • Kapagen replication update

Ive finished the build on the smaller Kapagen. The light board is ready to go and I have finished building the light box for testing light intensity. I'm waiting for the Luxmeter to arrive then it can be mounted in the light box. My ground plates have been sunk in my back yard and we are closer to testing. This is a short video recapping the progress.

                              • @Jiffy,

Please take some time to look at the kapa thread on ou.

Core, from over there, has posted something that now starts to make sense.

I fear, all that JLN's replication does, is, step up in the mot.
