i decided to create this project and topic based on the EMconcepts mini tesla that farrahday showed us!

its a very powerfull and so simple toy that can be made with 2 or 3 eur, its also a very funny gift to offer my friends when ther birthday time, they will be mouth open, because its not very common thing to see.



im so happy, it was not easy to tune this and find a good way of make it work well, but the path of trying, error, sucess is inspiring!

in the video im feeding it with the wall adaptor(9v), because the 9v bat were allready flat, but will work for a good time with it! also took some scopeshots for the ones interested!

- buy about 30-40 tiny neon bulbs
- stick them in a piece of card with your womans name spelt out
- place near tesla coil/kacher/exiter/spark gap generator + coil
- switch of lights, and turn on power, for when she comes in.....

and romance will blossom

the iron cuts the effect and with the otherones i loose performance,

its very easy!

the secondary is arround 6 ohms of thin wire (4mm i think), the primary is 5 turns of thicker wire (6mm plastic covered)!

the box is 9cm x 6cm , the coil is 9cm x 1.5cm and arround 1.5cm diameter!

you should first try with the coil alone and tune it (primary position, turns), so you have a field near 2 or 3 cm (with your avramenko plug)

then try to connect secondary coil output to an aluminium box (without putting the coil inside it), your amp draw would increase, but not to much, compared with the field that you will get!

when you are shore that all is working naice, you can pass to the next step, that is, isolating the bottom of the aluminium box with 3/4mm tape layer and put all the components ther making shore that none of components, transistor, coil, wires touchs the box, besides the coil secondary output!

you can use 2n3904, 2n2222, mpsa06, i think tip31c will also work (i have not tested it yet) (you should use a small heat think), just connect one end of primary to bat positive(+9v), the other end to transistor colector, then connect the secondary end wire (closer to the primary) to transistor base and transistor emiter to battery negative(-9v). (if dont work change the primary end wires, or change side of primary)

i dont used the resistors in the schematic, because my coil selfstarts (very strange effect, because my bigger one needs to be activated with a 3k ohm resistor from positive to base)

You can also tell her that the flower only works when touched because your love powers it, or insert other cheesy slogan that would make her giggle ;-)

But seriously thats great. One thing it needs is an input somehow like solar charging, but thats just a detail. ... Or... AV plug to battery with LEDs so your larger towers charge it, then its a magic box powered by magic!

Who knows, the possibilities are limitless. You could make a whole boquet and the tin would still light them all I bet. just make sure its grounded so you dont have to hold them all. "Because even plastic flowers need the ground" hehehe

its important to make these inventions cute and presentable in their final forms so the ladies will accept them!

aside from that, watching your transformer video, would it be possible to have that rotating spark effect made larger and still retain control? I was thinking of a light curtain as a doorway, or as clothing, a skirt or armsleeve. Or even to go from the top to bottom of a window to have ionic breeze come in the house.

and about the last one, i will try this with a very big magnet of a sound speaker!! the best will be to have a magnet very thin, but the size of a small window, and another layer of metal outside (1 cm far)...

i have allready tested block magnets, but the plasma still want to do the circle shape and avoid the corners!! very interesting!
