  • Gravity Powered Air Turbine Generator

Hi folks, I decided this needed a new thread. This was originally Johnny cool pants idea and I'm offering my ideas and some modifications for continuous 24 hour reset/cycle operation. First idea is to use winches at both sides of device, to pull weighted cart up onto angled bellow and then other winch will pull the weighted cart off the bellow so it can reset itself via the weights on pulleys and cycle starts again. Second idea is to have the weighted cart itself contain a small battery and a small motor geared very high for high torque so it slowly climbs up angled bellow while using low amounts of power, while a small solar panel and/or wind generator can replenish these batteries or a portion of air powered device can replenish the batteries whether carried on board or powering off board winches. And automatic trip switches or other methods can be used to control when weighted cart stops and starts. In the human powered drawing, a human being can either climb a ladder and sit in the chair while gravity powers the bellow air turbine or a human being can rotate the large wheel winch, that will slowly raise a heavy weight to replace the need for a human being to sit there. Another option is to use a powered winch to replace the human powered input. No need to worry about whether the sun is shining or wind is blowing with this setup. Let me know what you folks think. Here are the cad pics.

Reloading the lever with a weight will also work given the correct weight and leverage ratios, dimentions of the bellows, size of the turbine, and of course the speed at which gravity causes a mass to fall. It would not be a fast acting apparatus, and would not be a continuous operating turbine, but it should work just fine in its cycles.Good Luck.. Stealth
