  • got some LED lamps modded with joule thief circuit:

    Basic joule thief: (1) 2N3904/2N2222, (1) 1K resistor, 22 winds bifilar .22 mm wire 1" TOROID coil scavenged out of a defective PSU.





    and a replication of a xee2's joule thief with 120V LED lamp




    will be following this forum and threads for updates from you guys...

      So much light from such small solar panel !
      And they have Li-Ion batteries ! 4 USD subsidized price, normally 15 USD !! Can't beat that !!

      • I saw this table top solar powered 12 led light. Wouldn't mind owning one myself. Would be interesting if it could be made to recharge itself from its own light, to extend the useable solar charge. Great for camping, or during power outs.
        If any one finds the price, please let us know. I'm almost sure it could not be made much cheaper than their price, but it could be made bigger and more powerful.
