  • The Earth Expands?

Not sure the title is the correct way of saying this.

World Conspiracy of Science- Earth Grows, Science Knows

YouTube - World Conspiracy of Science- Earth Grows, Science Knows

In NZ recently we had an earthquake about 400km south of where I live in Christchurch.

The earth split apart in some instances and formed ditches about 500mm apart.

Could this be a sign of the world growing?

    Pro's
    • It would explain trenches after earthquakes
    • As there was less land for dinosaurs did they enter the sea and become known as whales?
    • If the earth is expanding would that mean more oil, copper etc is coming to the top?
    • the enegry to expand must come from somewhere and could be utilised
    Con's
    • Where does the extra water come from to fill the seas?
    • Are mountains created by plates smashing into each other?
Something I came across. Thoughts welcome.

    All the best.

Maybe the world has stretch marks?

    G'day WoollyNZ,

You have a keen mind, I heard about the earthquakes there, though I havn't seen much tv lately and have missed the pictures, i'm not really qualified to say with any certainty but I do believe the earth can swell and contract from magnetic or gravitic effects, i'm not sure either if more oil ect. will come nearer the surface.

the enegry to expand must come from somewhere and could be utilised
I think this energy is most likely the Eather.

There is no need for more water. There is lots already.

I wouldn't say the tectonic plates were smashing together more like pushing or being pushed together with tremendous force.

Hope My opinions have helped you. And that you stay safe from earthquakes.

    Regards
    Andrew

      growing earth

      Woolly,

There are a couple threads here that have links to that.
It makes more sense than anything else in my opinion.

So way back then, there was quite a bit less gravity and
more oxygen. So everything got big like plant life and
animals like dinosaurs. As the Earth kept growing,
gravity increased a bit and oxygen concentration reduced
and life on the planet got smaller and smaller.

Besides the centrifugal force that expands the earth against
the downward push of gravity, the earth is always gaining
mass from "space dust", etc... and over billions of years, that
      is going to add up.

"USGS says at least 1,000 million grams, or roughly 1,000 tons of material enters the atmosphere every year and makes its way to Earths surface."
      Sincerely,
      Aaron Murakami
