  • PP-18/AR Transformer

Here is a schematic of my military voltage converter. It's 12:24 volts dc, either way dc transformer. Under certain circumstances it's been known to synthesize energy around 100-200 milliamps. It doesn't seem to be doing it presently, when I changed from military aircraft 23 volt Nicad to 24 volt lead acid combination. However nothing is certain.

      • Hello,

Thank you Eric for sharing. I am limited on time, but am thrilled to have others contribute to this concept.

        • Method of accomplishment.

A while back, people were attempting to re-create the Hidink plasma tube embodiment of a variable capacitor.

One of the HUGE stumbling blocks was the need for two power supplies separated by a questionable power supply scheme, whereby two supplies were separated only by mechanical switching.

This was solved (though nobody really noticed how awesome this solution was!)

Now, our limitations for the home experimenter are

          1) picking the correct gas to ionize
          2) drawing necessary vacuums and glass-work to create custom tubes

Here I propose use of "One atmosphere Uniform Glow Discharge Plasma" as a method of accomplishment. The technology takes advantage of ONE ATMOSPHERE plamas, which is readily available to most home experimenters.

            Capacitance is a variable

In practice, this capacitance is not fixed, but is a variable that depends on the materials and nearby objects, and proximity to earth. Objects move around in daily life, and so their capacitance changes.

As an example we can consider the human body. It is, in electrostatic terms, a conductive object, being mainly composed of water. Even if we neglect the nearby objects and earth, the human body can be approximated as a sphere that has a similar surface area4 . Typically a 1m radius sphere gives a useful approximation, and has a ‘free space’ capacitance around 110pF.
The free space capacitance of a sphere is given by 4πε0r, where r is the radius and ε0 is the permittivity of free space, 8.8x10−12 F/m

            Nearby objects and earth increase this value. In fact the human feet, on the earth, approximate two parallel plate capacitors in parallel with the free space capacitance. Each capacitor is made up of two electrodes – the sole of the foot and the earth. These are separated by a layer of dielectric (the shoe sole, typically a polymer of relative permittivity εr around 2.5). Each foot capacitance varies from moment to moment as the feet are lifted and replaced on the ground during walking. Each foot capacitance can be modelled as a parallel plate capacitor, with plates of area A separated by a distance d and capacitance C given by;

It looks like Steinmetz's style of layout. Upon further investigation, I have found the pages in his book "Theory and Calculation of Transient Electric Phenomena and Oscillations". You can download the pdf here: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...DTqNcl80zNv85w

If there is unavoidable loss occurring on contact due to the free electrons in the metal plates it will be evidenced by current flow and we will be back at square one. Are you still around Mario?
                    Great experiment!

                    My kingdom for an oscilloscope!

My cheap analog meter was not able to show any current or voltage on two charged capacitors that were unconnected. Of course if I made a circuit back to the battery, then there was current. I know that electricity 'needs' a circuit, but I feel like the absolute voltage match created by the parallel charge should create a relative potential between the two when placed in series.
I think this is a rather interesting question.

                    • Well im really going to have to revisit this concept. I had not considered it when multiple wavelengths reside within the marx generator structure. Will have to think about this one.

I personally have been leaning towards the merging of the charge conserving capacitive spring with material science.

I find myself quite obsessive over the concept of using piezoelectric materials and polar molecules in general. I have sent a few questions to transducer makers, and received no reply, either my questions are un-interesting, or they got sent to their R and D department for the next development, ha ha ha.

This is what I imagine for the moment, and cannot wait to get my hands dirty.

Take two parallel plates, and seal the space within, so that it can be filled with a liquid, and not leak.

Within this space place two independant wires non insulated which snake around to cover a large portion of the area.

Fill with Rochelle salt water. Place 1.5 volts or so across the plates, which will cause conduction through the salt water.

As the salt dries, it will form a crystalline structure. The structure will take into account the orientation of the molecules because of the 1.5 volt distribution.

You will have a polarly oriented dielectric when all is said and done, and imbedded within will be your wire matrix.

Now, the imbedded wires will have a distributed capacitance, which can be charged. As you charge and discharge this internal wire setup, the orientation of the polar dielectric will change. This SHOULD cause a capacity change on the parallel plates. The nature of this....I have no idea.

                      Thoughts anybody?

                        Absolutely,

May I suggest a few changes?

do not earth ground the two outer plates, they should not have a common connection, but rather should connect to a tank circuit of their own with a pick up for loading. Also, they must have an initially charged condition (duh).

The inner "plates" or wires should be orthogonal or "self canceling" with respect to the outer working plates. This ensures that any potential delivered to the inner plates shows up as nill to the outer plates, should be a wash.

I would say you have the right idea!

I am currently far away from home, helping the family out with a few medical issues among other things, and can do pretty much....nothing! so if anybody would like to give this a go, id love to help!

how does conduction "order" against capacity? What do you think of this scheme? Seems to me to be a very important question. Can one balance conduction against capacity? what happens when you do the inverse? Shuttle a collapsing magnetic field (EMF...causing conduction) across a core material reducing or increasing shared inductance?

To me this is an interesting combination of a piezoelectric effect within the conductive side of the time-space gradient.

                            • I recently read J. L. Naudin's patent application Patent US20050057116 - Electrical power source - Google Patents and found a very interesting detail which I don't believe has been talked about.

This application is basically multiple embodiments of the Hiddink device. If you read starting at paragraph 65:

The amplification of the energy can then be considerably increased. To do so, instead of immediately discharging the capacitor C, a second cycle is carried out for charging the capacitor C. This time, it is no longer necessary to use the voltage source since, when there is no discharge, the capacitor C at the end of the first cycle remains charged with the voltage V. It is then sufficient to ignite the plasma chambers and a second time to recreate the capacitor C which is charged with the voltage V. This results in the new conservation of the charge.
It must be noted that a device such as this can be likened to a Van de Graff electrostatic generator whose mode of operation is purely electronic.

                              • After taking a hiatus from my energy work for a while, I am back with a vengeance...

I will be continuing my work along the line of thought primarily contained within this thread.

My first order of business is work on a special passive transformer using Satruable reactor, or mag amp concepts. The first iteration of this will be based on the following schematic and concept.

This is a saturable reactor used as a frequency doubler. I will be adding onto this, and feeding the outputs into a third mag amp setup. The result will be...An input of 1 frequency, will result in an output of 2 frequencies, one the double of the other. These will feed the control and power winding of a second magnetic amplifier to create a parametric power conversion in the second stage. In other words, I will begin my experimentation with passive magnetic networks which create their own conditions for evaluation of parametric properties. From here I will explore, looping systems to see how many doubling i can fit into such a device before the core will "not handle anymore" and start to fall outside the reasonable BH curve zone.

Accoding to one source I found...
Dr. Dornig is reporting favorable results with the Epstein-Joly-Arco (EJA) frequency multiplier. The stage efficiency had reached 90% in the first transmitter to be installed at Nauen in 1912. They used a pair of these passive multipliers, doubling first to 16kHz and then again to 32kHz. By the use of these frequency multipliers, on October 18, 1913 the first error-free, daytime radio message between Germany and the United States was exchanged; thus opening the link between Germany and the US to commercial radio-telegraph traffic.
So done correctly efficiencies could be pretty decent.

I will also be receiving rare copies of two books for study. I will only be loaning them, and so I will try to make copies and supply them to whomever is interested.
