we're not trying to 'swirl' anything here though ... are we? Think its worth it anyone?
Greg
I think we should know exactlywhat we are building or what and
why we are going to swirl !!! I repeat EXACTLY ! Why ?
Besides common sense, because even when we have finished project
by someone, there is thousand questions : how this, how that etc...
Endless questions...So, anybody think that making something that
is not finished even as idea in someones mind can lead us anywhere ???
I do not think so !!!
Here is an interesting circuit I just stumbled across. Triple Pwm with seperate phase. Potential?
Yes, there is potential in it, i feel so, but as Sucahyo said : TOROID is
going to be main issue....How exactly make it, and what we need to know
and to have (materials, tool) to be able to make it...Or if we cant make it
so easily maybe we could buy it for 100 $ or so, but we should know EXACTLYwhat we are building and why !!!
I visited last summer one guy in Croatia (he was in news, that is how
i heard about him), he made one awesome hho cell and i saw it with
my own eyes, but i know that i am not able to reproduce it like that...
It would be easier for me to buy it from him when/if i decided to use
hho cell in my car...It would not be just easier, it is only option !!!
So, i think this is very similar story ! We need a little bit more soberness
or just sincerity towards ourself instead of wondering thru jungle of
unclear ideas in our minds, dont you think so ???
No I think just pulsing a single winding should do the trick, like I said back earlier in this thread, i'm not that interested in OU, so I think I will leave it up to you more educated guys to do, I don't really understand these things so well, and I have batteries to fix. I don't think with my limited knowledge I could do any swirling even if I wanted to. I can hardly make stingo work.
Batteries is what I need at the moment. So I need to concentrate on fixing them for now.
Cheers
Agreed, done, finished, final. One coil on a toroid. I will buy a commercial ferrite toroid with multiple taps and jump them all together in series to make a one-coil toroid.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the rating and size of the small toroidal choke used between the diode(s) and battery?
Well this is very disappointing. Lots of interest up front, now nothing. Well anyway, I will start building my PWM today. Looking for a good deal on a toroidal coil. I have a Semi-Torroid or two I can use if I get impatient. I'll post anything of significance.
Seems like the Captret has stirred a great deal of interest. All I have ever seen is a my battery dying in the long term. I've run that experiment and haven't seen anything new.
It's interesting. Ever since the internet began providing a good platform for sharing and promoting alternative energy research, I have noticed how huge crowds of builders and 'armchair' researchers can shift from one forum and thread to another upon a single announcement. It's pitiful and encouraging all at the same time. It's PITIFUL because NO commercial product has arisen from these efforts over the decades and ENCOURAGING because many, many seasoned builders and researchers stay with 'the program' as well as 'new blood' continues to join the ranks almost by the minute.

I'm still interested! I'm looking forward to some results from your specific op amp. If they are better than the results I got with my op amps I will place an order. I also built a simple astable multivibrator with a couple of transistors, right out of my electronics book. It gives some pretty decent results.
I would also be interested in discussing which programmable chips might be fast enough to generate a pulse signal up into the megahertz range. I tried writing an impulser program for an Arduino I had lying around and it was capable of producing high frequencies, but it wasn't accurate enough to be able to tune the frequency at the resolution I am looking for. I don't know too much about which programmable chips are available and fast enough, would appreciate some advice.
The captret is interesting but I think it's too difficult to measure the effects. It's too easy to misinterpret the readings. I'm going to continue to investigate circuits that involve impulse currents and coils, since I have studied what tesla said about them and I think I will be able to know the effects I am looking for when I see them.

........ absolutely agree, and I think there is a danger in trying to come up with something that's new and 'all your own' like with the captret. Then they go off with this chemical battery stuff ... that's what the foil, water foil is all about. I hope the guy hasn't quit his day job yet.
Can you imagine what Tesla could have done if he had access to solid state technology? Then again, I think there is some magic to a spark gap ... hair pin circuit and all. Can't go wrong with Tesla stuff ... unless you go off on some tangent thinking you' 'discovered' something he missed ... how dillusional What are your feelings about a commercial toroid transformer. I found one that boasts 95% efficiency. That's telling me the core material is premium ... even though the ratings are for 50/60 Hz. It's a 2:1 with taps for parallel and series both input and output, so you can connect all into one big series winding. Wire size will vary, but the fields will still add nicely. It's almost 7" in diameter X 2.6" thick. Triad VPT100-10000. I think it's going to hurt me around $175.

I have no idea but it sounds good. If I had the $ I would get one, but I don't, so I'll be winding my own. :-)
I wonder what kind of devices would use toroidal transformers... It would be nice to pull one out of an old scrapped device instead of buying one new...
Why not just buy the T650 toroid from micro metals? You could probably get two for less then that. When I bought mine from loadstone i had to purchase two, to meet the minimum order of $60, if I remember correctly.

It seems that anything audio could make use of toroids because of low stray fields = low noise. They are more compact (volume) for the rating ... good question.
Hi guys, 7imix I fixed the link above and i'll put one here as well, I have a large UPS that had 4 batteries I think it worked from 24 volts, anyway it has these two toroids close together and I am intrigued as to what they do.
Anyone have any idea what they might do they seem to positioned together for a reason.
Somehow I have managed to delete all my linked picture's I had uploaded. So i'm trying to fix as many links as i can, I had to take another photo to fix the one above. Hope I can find all the broken links before it annoys too many people.
I have to go unshort my electric fence the grass has grown up and is shorting the fence to neg and ground, should be fun. I can't turn it off.
Hi guys ! I am still with you ! I just do not know what to say so far !
I am waiting to see one step forward, i would like to contribute to
this project, but i am not sure if we know yet what we swirl as the
leaves are swirling in the autumn wind ! At least you have my moral
support at this moment just like you had it from the beginning...
After all this is my thread if i good remember...I would be proud if
we succeeded to make something of significance but i think we should
first agreed what we are making in the first place, and if i missed the
point enlighten me with a word of two, not much more then that, i
appreciate your time, so be concise for your own goodness !

We're going to pulse a single-coil toroid with very sharp rising pulse of very short duration ... maybe 0.1% duty cycle using a PWM circuit and a FET or Transistor, or SCR or something. You know, an SCR turns itself on pretty good if you give it a good kick in the pants up front. And SCRs can handle allot of current ... they just don't turn off too good. So you would want to charge up a cap, and dump the Cap into the Toroid Coil with an SCR ... then it would shut itself off. I don't know how sharp that would be though. This part sounds allot like the Water Spark Plug thread a while back. I did allot of work on that project.

So, it should be better for charging purposes then stingo for example in
your opinion ? How much better results do you expect of this project
comparing it let say again with stingo for example or with Bedini SSG ?
I dont know what kind of core do you mean we should have use for
our toroid, but i think (as Sucahyo) that this issue is of big importance...
I just have written something about that in Godfrey thread "Stingo solid
state battery charger", so if you want to read about it here is copy of that
text :
Are you going to join our efforts to do something about that something
more powerfull in my thread "This is it" ?
I was today in that guys house, and he sold me 5 toroids, 4 $ each...
I told him about Al factor, low permeability, dusty(not rusty as you have
written by mistake i guess)iron, and low saturation, and all that is
compatible with what we already had agreed about, your informations
just confirmed our presumptions...But THANK YOU VERY MUCH all the same !
I wound one of them(toroids) today and i tested it too, and results are good indeed !
But then i noticed something weird again...
After i put it to test my last free stingo (three others are already connected
together ) with this new wound core i noticed that this one stingo can
achieve the same result as those three stingo that are connected together ?!
I connected them by connecting all FWBR + in one spot, and all FWBR -
in other spot...
Then i asked myself what is the advantage of three stingo comparing that
single stingo and i had to conclude that the only advantage is that these
three stingo coils do not get worm as the coil of single stingo does only
after few minutes of charging ! But it mustnt be just that, am i right ?
What do you think, what i am doing wrong ?
I think i know now why my big toroid showed so bad result when i tested
it with stingo...This man showed me how these big toroid cores looks like,
most of them are assembled of those thin ferrite plates, and we know
now that ferrite cores are no good for stingo, as they are no good for
Bob Boyce toroids too, they must be of dusty iron...And he said he does not
have these big toroids composed of dusty iron, but he knows one guy
who knows where i could find these dusty iron bigcores too...
I will call him next week since he promised me he was going to ask that
man about that information...
Do you think that if we obtained such kind of big cores we should try
Bob Boyce project or we need something more special cores for that
purpose ?
