  • Brushless DC Fan Hall Sensor question

I have a few of these from 12v PC fan's. They all have 3 pins. I tried looking for the part numbers online to get a pin out and specs but i can't find anything. I want to use these in a pulse motor project. Does anyone have any generic info on these things or how i can test the pins? Thanks.

I can't vouch for all 3 pin Hall Sensors but the various ones i have when looking at the front of them are as follows:

        Pin 1. Positive
        Pin 2. Ground
        Pin 3. Supply (+)

I'm not sure how much current they can sink or the voltage they need but since they came from PC brushless fan's, i'll stick to 12v and bellow. Some can push up to 200ma and others much less. If it comes from a board that does not have any transistors then look at the fan rating for current otherwise stick to 50ma to be safe and use it to switch a transistor. I want to see what they are like compared to reed switches and if they are fast enough to produce inductive spikes.

I think they are all smd Parts,
and you shuold look at a List from them for the Labels.
But i did try it also before a while without luck.
Maybe someone has a good smd parts description list?
Maybe here. The SMD Code Book

Theorizer are like High Voltage. A lot hot Air with no Power behind but they are the dead of applied Work and Ideas.

I thought SMD's were surface mount? This looks like a small transistor in a TO-92 package but a bit thinner. The part number for the one i want to use is either 12x902 or 72x902 not sure but i cant find it anywhere.

Yes i do think that too, but sometimes i found some parts,
what are not directly surface mounted, but had a smd Code.

Even with this Sensors i had no luck to find any description for it.
And since they have now standard label and more look like smd
from the size and the Description, they should be anywhere found there.
But as i said, i had a few from the too, and no luck
to find anything about her Ratings.
Maybe you to take some other Fans apart,
and you may have luck, to find a Sensor, what has clear Labels.
I got one now, and it seems,
              there is this one in.
