  • a kind of loop

Hello people. Lately I have been toying around with electronics. And I'm now messing around with speakers. I want to make a kind of loop that when currency is applied to the loop it switches on and off rapidly. I'm planing to use this for making a speakers "scream". I'm not a expert or anything, and im not even sure if this might be to hard for me.

The materials I got are rather limited, everything I have is stolen from old CRT monitors and other stuff. So if anyone could help me I would be very happy

As I said. I want to make a speaker scream by applying electricity rappidly on and off. And if not to hard, adjustable freqency would be great.

    Hi,
you can make a easy frequency with something like a simple Joule Thief.
When you use some thicker Wire for the trigger Coil,
you can have even very slow Pulses.
Or you take a 555Timer, and make a astable pulser
    with a 0,22 Cap 2 Resistor and a Potentiometer (RA&Pot), and a Transistor.
Theorizer are like High Voltage. A lot hot Air with no Power behind but they are the dead of applied Work and Ideas.

Hello and first off all, thank you for your response. I can't help but notice this in the 'simple joule thief' article, "the transistor will switch on and off about 50,000 times a second and the white LED will light." How does transistors really work? I got a transistor looking just like the one showed in the components of the joule thief.
Yeah I know I could probably follow the joule theif tutorial, but I can't understand the papers

Well, you can build them with different Frequencys,
as for thinner wires and more you use, as higher the frequency will be.
A Transistor is like a interrupted Connection.
With Energy at the Base the Connection does close,
and makes a Path between Collector and Emitter.
At the Joule Thief you put at the same time Energy throught both Windings,
what do create a opposite Field at one Winding and this turns the Transistor on.
But since it works with opposite Windings,
you got a negative Field at the trigger Coil (south Pole and North Pole from a Coil), what reduce the Energy at the Base again,
        and the Transitor turns off.
The Size of the Windings does set the Voltage, thinner Wires create more Voltage.
And with higher Voltage it creates higher Frequency.
You could actually say, that the latency at the thinner Wire is shorter,
as at thick wires, till the coil is saturated, and the Current runs through
        with certain Pressure.
With the variable Resistor like the Potentiometer you can adjust,
how much Current will come at the Base, and when.
Theorizer are like High Voltage. A lot hot Air with no Power behind but they are the dead of applied Work and Ideas.

          THIS PAGE
          has some circuit suggestions.

Replace the "lamp" in the circuits with a loudspeaker
and sound will be produced at some frequency you
desire. The size of the capacitor will determine the
frequency of oscillation, as will certain resistor(s.)

Hello, I realized that these stuff are too hard for me, I have yet to make my first project using resistors transistors and capacitors.. I know what all the stuff on the scheme means. But I dont know what polarity should be where, and I dont have the proper sizes of the resistors. So I guess I should start off somewhere more simple. Any suggestions?

              hi makke

that's precisly what i am doing in my last vid: Plasma Love Flame

you can use a very simple variable frequency generator circuit, or you can make a self oscilating circuit like a joule thief and put a potentiometer on the base of the transistor... you will have to buy some cheap parts, or you can try to find some similar on your savaged old CRT monitors... thats how i have done the first tesla hairpin (cold energy) running from 12V source with a flyback transformer and capacitors from my damaged monitors!

              Cold Proof

              hugs

                Hello TanTric.

Well, before this project in starting now (Learning more about wiring and electronics). I made a high power supply using a flyback transformer and a simple circuit that Cody drew for me. The first flyback transformer I was using was very weak, so I changed to a bigger and stronger one. But once I was almost finished with it, my regular 10-15V powersupply broke!.. So now I dont even have a real powersupply.
Anyhow, that looks very interesting, so does the joule thief. I'm thinking about looking more into the joule thief since the circuit is rather simple. Cheers mate

                  ...

In this video you can see how simple it is to make a joule thief step by step:

YouTube - Make a Joule Thief

you can use a potentiometer in series with the resistor so you can vary the pulse frequency and put the sound speaker coil in series with the primary coil (the one that goes from the battery positive to the transistor colector), or you can try to replace the LED by the sound speaker coil!

any transformer (wall adaptor) will work for this operation, you can use a high rated transistor (like the ones in CRT) when using 12V input!

hugs and keep in touch if you need any help!

                  boom

Thanks alot dude, that looks really simple, Ill have no problem making that!
Do you have msn messanger or possibly steam? It would be awesome if I had someone who's better than me to ask.

Unfortunetly, I can't wire anything up right now.. Since I wont be home untill next friday.

shore, i have sent you a pm!! good luck, and notice that this is my assumption, never tryed it that way, so, i dont really know what the results that you will get this way! then you can also try the circuits that seamonkey showed!
