How to turn plastic waste into diesel fuel cheaply

    my sincere condolences ,
    I mean, it`s absolutely normal for untreated fuel. I`ve recently burned about 50kg of that stuff. That is an even worst hell.
    A recipe for a bit prolonged life of the filter would be a good injector cleaner in every tank refill plus a bit of benzene/xylene base paint thinner. That said I assume you don`t use PS in the waste feed otherwise your sludge wont be so gelatinous, but rather solid. That would be a nightmare, trust me.

      So I'm going to start import purchase the real stabiliser Made specially to keep that diesel in the right track, otherwise it's simply an impossible affair.

      I found a provider. The chemical is Said "for catalytic (hum) cracked (yes) diesel, avoid sludge, avoid black colour, remove instable molecules"

      I Will try it.

      I hope I haven't killed the happy contributors here, with my sludge problem.

      Myself I already invest a lot of money in it, and won't give up

        it`s not an impossible affair. I found a way around the problem. Basically, use PP, PE, wmo only; fill your vehicle`s tank only the amount of the fuel you think you can spend the same day - don`t let the fuel sit in your tank for days; regularly check fuel tank and the filter for sludge. This way it keeps me running.
        I`ve heard that STA-BIL is quite good for this stuff. What have you found?

              Yes I would be glad to help !

              The only problem matter is the shipping, as now they don't want to see anymore liquid chemicals in planes. I myself will cheat DHL to get a small amount to try here, once positive the only way will be import a qty by boat, and will probably pay surcharge as dangerous stuff.

              Regular post office in china pack themselves your parcels, to have a good check etc.

              Only way would be a small qty directly from me here, by post office parcel, from my dhl sample.

              The mixing ratio also is very unclear, but I will soon have more info from my staff in China.

              I wonder how your produced fuel have no sludge problem on your picture. Maybe it's related to the plastic it comes from ? Mine is purely originated from wmo

              China is known to produce synthetic fuels. Their gasoline has a little brown colour and stinks a lot, now I better understand why

              That's why they also have additives for sale.

              It is said actually the fuel additives factories for europe and us are a few, and they don't produce a lot of it, as percent needed is very little. It's said it's very difficult to buy from them. That way the only thing we have availiable is stabilizer made for already stabilized fuel, at a very high price

              Seems not very efficient business. Better have one especially made for the fuel we got, and with a little price per liter.

                Good to know that!
                The fuel in my picture, the one that was clear and yellow, comes from polyethylene, only this kind of plastic gives such results and you neeed no filtration or any other afterprocess. But that comes at a price. PE produces liquid fuel that composes from about 60% waxes or paraffins that become solid at temperatures lower than arouns 17 degree celsius. The other part is clear liquid without any sludge or carbon particles, very good stuff. If the waxes are put through the process again, you get 60% of waxes again and around 40% of liquid fuel, but this time the waxes are more dense and turn liquid at higher temperature, almost like candle wax. So every type of material has its positive and negative sides

                • Ok, here is my progress so far:




                  The condenser has an inlet a little higher than in the middle of it. Above it is a metal screen that will hold iron turnings to increase the contact surface area and effectiveness of the condensation process. It has a removable lid so that it can be cleaned if needed. The size is big, but I use what I have and it will come handy when the unit will be converted to a continuous feed WMO cracker. All I need now is a stand or frame to put it on and an attachment in the lid to hold the thermocouple. Also I need to make the metal screens for the refluctor to hold any kind of catalysts. Hope to get this done on this weekend.

                  • Master, if you want to process wmo, a good thing to do would be to add an output pipe with high temp valve. Because after cracking around 400C, the left part has to be drained.

                          Just came across this fourm and am very interested in all the posts. Is there anyone building these machines for sale. We have alot of waste plastic each year and would be interested in converting it to diesel to run our new holland tractors. Any help appreciated.

                              Yes I could sell some later on. Better directly sent from China.
                              I have a Dhl ready to start with the catalizers and other stuff, but guess the stabiliser sample would brobably not be in, So we have to wait...

                              Pût the gazes directly into Water is certainly a way to condense them but need to cool this Water then. I'm afraid this would lead to very high Water content into the fuel, that is very harmful for the diesel injection system. Some solvent produced Will certainly enter in the Water, chat to do with this Water then..
                              Nobody uses this way for fuel in the industry

                              • For condensing and cooling 1 liter of diesel, from 400 c to 80 c needs only 2 liter of water whitout cooling the water. Thermal capacity of whater is double then diesel.
