    hi to all...
i was read all posts and comments about this complex thing.. this form is nice and soon i will start with building reactor. I work with oil derivates 12 years and this is not strange field for men...
i will start with one simple reactor like have most of ppl here its no problem for all... problem is with catalyst and condense chambers and temperatures... in past i was make interesting crack chamber for other purposes... its kind of cracking with static electricity. so, oil are polymer but static electricity in 0.1 mm make simple degradation clarify and decolourise diesel oil... i will make experiment with refluctor without clay or zeolite because in past i was make experiments with this kind of materials and results are zero compare with charcoal... clay never be good enough because dont have pores or micro holes... in every refinery charcoal using like catalist for steam and for filtering. second thing, if you filter the steam you never have solid particles only ash in normal percents for diesel oils...ash is also solid particle and stop with cotton... that i know for now without experiments and that chamber with electricity i will talk about when i do experiments after building this oven ...

Yes I have tried WMO without plastics.
The liquid fuel produced is better in every respect .

In my country WMO is twice as expensive than w-plastic , otherwise I would have completely switched to WMO .

well. after readind all of the precious info here it came up with an idea. when I tried to recycle wmo and found it very difficult, and looking for answers I found all of you sharing experiences and knowledge for the good of humanity.
then it seams to me that you already have a set up design that people can build. I will love to hear from you and can apreciate it a lot. then my contribute to this is the filters sistem that i built for the recycled wmo. they are a series of toillet paper very big about 30 cm in diameter this sistem is first filled with oil in a vessel and presurized in order of get the oil thru the filters (paper) and then collected in a big plastic drum.but this wasnt enough to clean the oil so I built a centrifuge and it did very good but not exellent.
now I ended with all the equipment but no product, I hoppe you could help me with a set up.
      thanks a lot
      regards from mexico
mr jetics is also the man
and will put pictures of my set up for u all to build if it works for u

        Hi,
I don`t use any catalyst, just temperature control and I get a pretty good quality diesel fuel.

          • best filter for oil is charcoal... not toilet paper!... make experiment in one plastic bottle cut the bottom, after that put 5 centimetters cotton and after put charcoal in granules like rice preashure that filter to be compact... that is best filter. its better with activated carbon but activated carbon is expensive...

              ok thanks.
I will try that this week with my set up and post the results right away.
what if I filter the wmo in this way after the centrifuge?
              regards from mexico.
we want to hear from u mr jetijs

if you like to filter wmo you need bigger granulate and that filtering system works with pressure 1.1bar... nice results is with 0.9-1.1bar with diesel oil .

                  thanks for ur answers.
overall the set up I have made can take some 50 cubic centimeters of charcoal and if I understand well the chunk pieces must be 1 cubic centimeters? and no charcoal dust? packed ?
the presure I was using was 110 pounds on my manometers about the same presure of a semitruck tire.
                  will post pictures soon
                  regards from mexico.

Make experiment first with a plastic bottle... rice granules are not one cubic centimetters! maybe one 2mm cubic is meshure... second, if you filter waste oil you need bigger granules... you will see the result of filtering ... this filter make diesel oil to look like diamond!

                      ok
                      I got the idea.
                      and must try that today
now I have to fix the centrifuge it broke yesterday and couldnt get any oil to make on the charcoal.
                      results very soon with pictures
                      regards from mexico.

"Activated charcoal" doesn't seem to be very expensive, I buy it in capsuls and its pretty cheap, I'm going to see what price I can find for bulk. I do recall reading what "activated" means, and it vastly increases the surface area.
Going to 'go back' and read exactly what 'they' do to charcoal, to make it 'activated'. It would be reaaly cool if we could take the 'waste' product from the reactors, the black carbon crap, and MAKE it into 'activated' charcoal!!!Jim

Iam attaching a file for a 1000-liter capacity, designed for my client .
Who want's me to make a pyro unit & than come to USA to commission it with technology transfer .

The flow diagram is self explanatory.
I hope tony, betopty & dutchdivco will get many answers regarding continuously feeding system .

I designed it so that waste PE,PS & also PP-bags of sugar, floor, rice, cement.Which are dumped by many food-processing companies can be fed-In directly without even washing it .

I would like the forum community to comment about it . Specially Jetijs .
                          Anyone can also e-mail at

what catalyst we need to mix with plastic in burner and what the right temperature should be ???

And, have to re-iterate a 'reminder', not just to you, but to ALL readers; In developing this technology, what we are doing, is really building a small oil refinery; Even the 'Professionals' have had several catastrophic accidents with oil refineries, with fatalities. And they are SUPPOSED to know what they are doing!

Now, that said. On using cramic or alumina pipe; I posted earlier; there is a material thats made and sold, to INSULATE pipe; in boiler type operations. I bought some on Craigslist, that a contractor had 'left over', and got it dirt cheap. Its made like sections of pipe, 4' long, and with inside diameters 'just right' to fit around the outside of the pipe. The 2 sizes I got are (about) 18" and 23" inside diameter. Each 'piece' comes in 2 sections, in other words the 'piece' of pipe has been split, longitudinally, so it cn be put on the pipe AFTER its been 'plumbed up'. It is fairly friable, easily breakable, though, one would have to find some way of strengthening it, to use it AS the reactor vessel. Thought I'd mention it, as you might be able to find a small amount fairly cheap, by buying 'left over' material from a big construction job. I suspect, because it is fairly fragile, contractors probably buy a little extra, in order to insure they don't run out.

If the metal included was ball bearings, they should be fairly easy to seperate from the charcoal residue, left at the end of the process. Its even possible that some kind of agitation could cause the ball bearings to dislodge the residue from the inside of the vessel, thereby facilitating cleaning. That way you would get dual use; helping to transfer heat AND facilitate cleaning! Just my thoughts, and sorry if I sounded lecturing at the beginning of this post, just wanting to make sure no one ends up with a 'Darwin award' from pursueing this technology.Jim
                            Hi Jim,
Thanks for your elucidation on the induction heated plastic-to-diesel post.
I am sure it will be helpful but I have not yet started construction.
I have won the right conduct feasibility studies for garbage to energy in my city of 700,000. I am also seeking rights to set up a pilot project after the studies are done. I hope to implement my induction heater ideas in the pilot scheme.
                            Again, thank you.

Congrats on winning the feasability study grant. Let us know how the transfer aspect works out, as well as the overall success and lessons learned. Jim

look ... in this what i tell about charcoal have one think what i didnt tell... this is only half about this kind of filtering... other half i dont like to tell here because that is against the law :s ... you will have good results but the best result clarify and make diesel to look like diamond with yellow green color is something else. that is one interesting chemical electrostatic cheap formula ant instalation is one tube .... because look, centrifugal system is bad for oil because you will loose dentisity and all fats. but with electrostatic instrument you will have best results even better of oil refinery!!!
