I found out today that medallion shops, those that design and produce medallions for sports events, etc. dispose of a lot of magnesium. Whether it is suited for air batteries - I'm not sure, but, the shop I went to tosses away bucketfuls because it can't even be recycled (here in BC Canada, that is...) and therefore they said, "Sure, we'll save it for you" and gave me about 40 lbs of it.
