First Power
Hey all,
Just wanted to let you all know about a project I'm involved with:
First Power First Power is a project that is helping First Nations communities in BC to develop clean energy solutions to their dependence on dirty diesel fuels. Via the creation of micro-hydro, wind and biomass projects, rural indigenous communities are able to reclaim their power, literally and in the sense of self-empowerment through sustainable job creation.
Right now, First Power is in a race to win an Unreasonable Institute fellowship that will give it a substantial leg up in terms of continuing the very important work that we're doing: Unreasonable Institute If you think what we're doing is worthwhile and deserves the help, please please help us raise the 8k we need to get a fellowship seat

I am pretty excited to be working with First Power... it might sound cheesy, but this project really does give me hope for the future. It's a model for what what sustainable business is all about and the fact that economic and environmental sustainability go hand in hand.
