Expansion tank/ Check valve
@ woopy,
I think that a simple swing check or spring check with an expansion tank combo as the more reliable valve that you are suggesting. It's funny, I laughed just like you did when i had my first one going. i couldn't believe I got one going in about 20 minutes, with a gallon ziplock and some other junk and tubing from the garage!

I think Uday has figured out how to build a reverse ram pump effect, using the suction end to do the work instead of the shockwave in the input side. Just a thought. Check out how a hydrualic ram pump works, maybe a similar design can be used with this effect.Last edited by Gdez; 04-24-2011, 07:06 PM.

Yep Gdez
you are probably right
I retested the suction side and it is not always the same effect.
Next week i will make a bigger experiment to get more reliable results
@ Uday
Thanks a lot for your experiment results
and at all
a so easy to replicate device must be done anyway
good luck at all

Hi all
Have tried different valve system and everything works. The ballon is the most simpler to begin with IMHO.
I have also tried to verify if the pulse jet is stronger than the regular . And it is . I simply turned the bottom of the tubing to the vertical. The regular jet simply fall down from the opening. And the pulsed jet make pulsed jump above the opening. So it seems that this device can also create compression of the water jet.
Will make a video soon.
Now i took some info on the ram pump. And they speak on 60 to 80 % efficiency.
But to me it seems that they speak of the lost water efficiency . And as those pump can elevate the pumped water much higher than the motorising height input water, and if we consider that the HEIGHT of water is SQUARED in all stored energy formulas, the real energy gain is really impressive, what do you think ?
Good stuff here
good luck at all

Hey woopy,
I was wondering what valve combination you used. Also have you checked out a spiral pump? maybe the jet action could be used to drive the spiral pump, also pumping water up and/or compressing air, as in the drawing you presented above. The typical loss in a ram pump is 8 gallons for every one gallon pumped up. Cutting that loss in half would be very beneficial to my project. Maybe combining the ram pump with uday's pump and maybe even the spiral pump all in one would be what I should try to do with my project.

I highly recommend that you watch this vid, it does an excellent job at introducing you to fractal antenna
YouTube - ‪Fractals: frequency, the heart, and cancer‬‏
It also talks about the heart and by extension the Doctor's Collapsible bladder:

the collapsible bladder (it may facilitate the creation/concentration of ORM in water ex:your heart ):

Though in video water flowing from tap is shown it works same way if there is a reservoir at starting of the collapsible bladder and if small pipe is connected to it.Clearly the processes of suction and pressure need to be examined.[ No beneficial, natural exchange can take place solely under conditions of pressure. . Vortical flow structure identification and flow transport in arteries
1. Introduction
Our interest in vortices arises for two reasons. Firstly, at moderate to large Reynolds
numbers (at least 100) which characterise flow in larger arteries, vortices are quite
persistent. The presence of vortices in a flow may exert a strong influence on its behaviour, although tracking vortices may be difficult as they can evolve rapidly. The effects of vortices or vortical structures are particularly evident when considering both flow stability, and the processes of mixing and transport by the flow. The object of this paper is to examine the dynamics both of vortex motion and of particle transport in arteries, and to relate these to parameters such as geometry and unsteadiness. The Lagrangian particle tracking and the vortex dynamic techniques which are described should help in understanding arterial fluid dynamics and suggest new approaches to modelling.
The constructal law puts forth the idea that the generation of design (configuration, pattern, geometry) in nature is a physics phenomenon that unites all animate and inanimate systems, and that this phenomenon is covered by the Constructal Law stated by Adrian Bejan in 1996: "For a finite-size (flow) system to persist in time (to live), its configuration must evolve such that it provides easier access to the imposed currents that flow through it[."

Thought there are some similarities there are more differences between classic hydraulic ram and present experiment especially the application of exploiting for hydroelectric power in manner illustrated.
Though in video water flowing from tap is shown it works same way if there is a reservoir at starting of the collapsible bladder and if small pipe is connected to it.
The most important point is that it enters at zero or negative head and works well at low velocity flows and therefore useful for hydroelectric power generation from small streams or rivers at waterfall areas and there is no requirement for constructing large dams/reservoirs for it to work. Hence it can be used as a very costeffective micro or pico hydroelectric plant in rural and hilly interiors where communications are difficult to establish. Once started the process goes on as long there is water continously flowing from above.
1) It converts continuous flow of water to pulsatile flow thereby energy from continuous source is made to release in pulses and therefore becomes more powerful and can turn parts much heavier than would be achieved by utilizing continuous flow.
2) The rotating mechanism shown is actually demo model of 2 stroke internal combustion engine and here instead of pulses of combustion of gas which happens in all engines the piston is connected to to & fro oscillating pipes produced by repeated waterhammer effect and this powers the jerky rotations of the wheel which are coupled to a dynamo.
3) The whole of water surface in contact with pipes is involved in energy transfer unlike conventional turbines where the blades in contact to fraction of water flow are used and for long time engineers dreamed of making a effective device which converts wider area of energy distributed in water resources
Thus it scores over Pelton wheel, Francis turbine or Kaplans and truly advanced next generation turbine.
This is continuation of another youtube video which I uploaded few months ago and the theoretical description of the working of model is better given there
