Could be used for generator's , the one oscillates the coil to attract and repel the magnets it uses a mechanical switch to change polarity of the coil, the switch may be wrong but you get the idea.
The other uses the directional flow of current in a wire as propulsion moving the spherical magnet along the track, here's the vid that gave me the idea YouTube - Electromagnetism 4: The Motor Principle will it have a sticky spot and stop ?????

I know that ac will oscillate the coil but what Im wondering is if the mechanical switching would allow the system to find its own resonance.
Its an easy setup Im gathering materials now
maybe a bifilar coil, primary wound over one or two secondary's,cap added to create lc circuit
        just thinking out loud
I built a coil winder out if a electric wheelchair motor it was an older one the motors on this particular one were 12 volt dc works like a charm, reversing the polarity changes wind direction.

Brass wire should exhibit negative resistance because of the zinc, it was used for signal wire on the railroad back in the good ole days

Does anyone have access to this wire so we can test it?

              Brass wire

I am pretty sure I have seen brass wire in the local craft store. If you live in the US, Hobby Lobby and JoAnne fabrics both have pretty large crafts sections. I was in JoAnne's one day with my wife and while she was looking at fabric I wandered into the craft section and found some iron wire. I had been looking everywhere for some of it. You can find all kinds of neat goodies there I found out.

Ive found it in the local craft store but in short length's, it can be ordered from India but not sure if there is a minimum or not. EDM Brass Wire,Brass Metal Wire,Industrial Brass Wire,Brass Wire Manufacturers in India

Dean 2 mentioned in his magnet thread that he uses brass for his rails said it seemed to work well with magnetic fields.
