The aim of the organisation is to eventually provide a set of 50 free plans to construct high quality and low cost machines that will allow you to develop a sustainable civilisation that will provide you with modern comforts.
The project was started by Marcin Jakubowski who outlines why he started the project below:

I thought I would post this in the Renewable Energy section of the forum because one of the plans is called the Multimachine, a machine which contains a lathe, mill and drill press in one machine made out of used car parts. I have yet to read the plans but I thought that they would be useful for anyone who doesn't have the access or money to buy such tools which are needed for constructing your projects.
