  • SG Capacitor

    Hi All,

Newbie with a daft question here.

I am currently trying to source a good capacitor for an SG circuit. Most capacitors I am looking at are around the 450V and 3000uf. However, I have come across one that is 450V but is marked 5600 MFD. Is MFD and uf the same?
    Thanks

MFD = micro farads I believe. Same as uF. But I do have a 1 Farad cap here that is marked as 1.0 MFD so I could be wrong. OR they marked it wrong.

They marked wrong. Caps used for electronics are usually marked in uF but hv caps and starting caps for motors are often marked in MFD but they are uF values.

How much was your 1 Farad cap ? I was quoted $89.95 down from $199.00
at an auto stereo shop for a 1 Farad cap. I have no idea what they are actually
        worth.
