I have no idea why this thought presents itself, but it does...

    Cosmic fashion attire
Wide bases on jeans with a big yellow sun on the posterior (solar flares) and a dark red T-shirt with 'Universal Baby' written in flames on the front.
That would be for women of course.
T-shirts with spiral galaxies and a pointer that says 'You Are Here'
Plain black T-shirts with the writing 'Moon Total Eclipse'
Any celestial event could bring forward such advertising of it, by the public fashions for the event. Perhaps if this was the 1960's or 70's it would be a good idea.

          Super flares

I'd much rather dig up an old thread that start a new one. The latest research shows widespread evidence of super flares.
"In fact, scientists have observed over 80,000 such stars. Hiroyuki Maehara and colleagues published a study (Nature, 2012) that found — after painstakingly analyzing the Kepler observations over a period of 120 days — evidence for 365 “superflares” on these stars."

OK, the Carrington Event was in 1859. What are the odds today?
