How to store posts ?

I would like to save all my posts or print them into pdf, for further analyse (maybe other user posts also) - there is a lot of thought which require returning back to think twice about them and I prefer to have them on paper.
Is this possible ?

I'm not speaking for Aaron but..
Most Forum software that are uploaded to a server aren't capable of that right off the bat. You got several options. Use the search tools and put the thing together yourself via cut paste. Of use Web Scraper (Heres is one called Web-Harvest) and work the tool to give you what you want.
Its not even a real hard task but might take you some time to figure out the entire structure of the website. Some Scrapers will bundle the Website and allow you to save it locally then you can cater the tool locally so things are quicker. You could even extract it to give you the look and feel of the website. Of coarse then you need to port to a PDF maker. There are several that will format HTML into a ready to go PDF.
But I hope Aaron has better news for ya.

I actually just printed my post into pdf using primopdf printer:

unfortunately each page is printed as a separate pdf, but it is good enough for me

The only problem I see now is how to make search result as a single HTML page with expanded posts, then it would be a piece of cake to print it into pdf using pdf printer driver.

Evernote - have you tried it?

It has a searching function and is capable of giving you online content, that is downloaded to your HD for later use. You can even download it to various machines, or sign in on a Web browser - to look over your files. and leave nothing on the host machine.

I have used it for years, it uses a cloud based system.

Thats what the Web harvest will do. You tell it what you want and it returns it. To you just have it return the text time and date in HTML format.

Well I know i've learned a lot from what you fellows have posted above !
My idea on first reading the problem, was to simply use the Blog feature of the site for storage. Your posts could be copy&pastes of thoughts, so it would work like a blog anyway with a timeline. Then they would be always somewhere you could find them, even after a HDD crash or whatever. Other people might also view your thoughts and could give ideas, like those here in this thread now.

Used to have a girlfriend who stored every email I sent her on floppy disk. I didn't know anything about that and it didn't bother me, but on seeing a stack on her desk labeled 'Mark' it was quite unnerving. Worse, if you see my point, was that she printed them all out too
