  • Post Your Emergency Device Ideas/ Lights, Fans, Etc.

Hi folks, we had a little storm here that took out power for about 12 hours.
Of course I have experienced this before and have a bifilar oscillator with secondary winding that powers a fluorescent lamp at about 2 watts, that lights up the room nicely with halo bulb.
Though I wish to share a little setup that draws about 400 milliamps and was using 36 volts input for around 15 watts. Maybe not the most efficient, though I threw it together in about 10 minutes, so we could sleep comfortably.
It threw a good amount of air to cool us off.
The motor is a johnson 120 volt dc motor and that's a 12x8 master airscrew folding prop mounted backwards to push air.
If anyone wishes to use this thread to share any emergency devices lke lights, fans, etc. please do so if you wish. Here is a pic of the emergency fan, it had duct tape holding it down.
