The mind is quicker than the eye. Your brain can calculate things in the blink of an eye if you get the standard emotional garbage and ego out of the way and let it do the work. It can bring a sequence of events to almost a standstill or speed them up. Certain martial arts can help do this but its not necessary. Let me relate my experiences.
Time slowed down:
I have caught hatchets by the blunt end,caught arrows shot at me as well as other flying objects. My mind tended to slow these events down. This was all by surprise by my closest friends and younger brother also. I think they knew I would do them no harm. I was in my 20,s at the time after coming back from Vietnam.
Time sped up:
I have see my whole life pass before my eyes twice. Once in Vietnam and once in the states. It is an experience I wont soon forget. Once again Im in my 20s. From the time I was born up until the moment I knew I would die,my whole life played back like a video in a blink of an eye. What a rush!
I cant see how that could be calculated out by math.
The grey matter between our ears is amazing. We need to at least let it be our equal if not our master. It is our communication device to life and the universe. I think it knows more than we know. By some accounts in the old book or bible and visions of mass vehicles running down the road it would seem it does.

the state of the mind is a very hard thing to discuss for its remote actions it is like saying that all the creatures of the earth still live in the garden of eden and only man lives in a state of exile.
i have seen allot of unusual things in my life that go way beyond normal explainable physics so i don't have a problem with the strainge and bizarre any more.
i was amazed that Keely clearly demonstrated this in his later work that the mind can effect matters reactions and read a paper about two groups of people viewing a nuclear colider one group did not believe it was possible and the other group did they saw many more collisions during that test than they had ever seen before and the other group saw none.
perhaps we need to work on the collective mind of people.
