Ya know when I was looking at the cell with the copper screen it seemed to move the field down away from the coil, the crack looked like it went all the way to the structured field but didnt crack the structured field.
I wonder if we could move the field totally away from the coil the bemf would go into the structured field and not the coil.
What I think the bemf is, the electrons(either) sets up the spiral then when there is a pulse or the electricity is shut off the residual electrons crash into the coil windings.

from what we have seen so far quartz has been a major player, in our research it could definetely have an impact on the freezing process
have you considered using powdered quartz with the water...it will sink in to the bottom of the container where your alum plate is and get frozen....you end up with a vortex ice leading to a layer of frozen powdered quartz
Note: water expands when it is frozen , with the piezo electric properties of quartz and the memory of water + structure water sounds like a "Thunderfull" mix for an ice batteryLast edited by MonsieurM; 09-10-2011, 12:22 AM.Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws. -Confucius.

Yea I was thinking the quartz would allow the either to move into the cell with less restriction whereas the acrylic is a dielectric.
But then again if we get the either field flowing from the top it wouldnt matter

I would suggest you use that double coil you made a while back to shape the vortex ice, it keeps coming back...

USU geophysicist links quartz deposits to mountains and faults
Geophysical measurements collected in the western United States reveal correlations between high concentrations of quartz and high temperatures deep in the Earths crust. USU geophysicist Tony Lowry says quartz is key to rock cycles resulting in large-scale deformation of continents. Image courtesy Tony Lowry, Utah State University.
Mountains formation is due to quartz...(simple logic but works for me ) and mountains have ice
btw: about the quartz ice battery as the ice melt electricity is produced too...Signs and symbols rule the world, not words nor laws. -Confucius.

you could even layer Dave, you freeze one layer to shape it, add some more water re-freeze etc.... could be also done with the quartz powder or other (my choice is on quartz ) and ice

Im thinking of moving the either field up so it inters the coil from above like the drain you posted, will make a screen tomorrow, I have a taller container that I can use for a cell.
