Aaron, that glitch had me confused this morning when trying to work out what UK time I should use!

For those in the UK, time for call is Friday 5th August at 0300 hrs local (BST).

    Regards

Ok, thanks for the fix on the time, so for me (Italy) it's Thursday 4th August at 16:00 local (GMT+1)
I need to have the time confirmed as i'll need to leave my work 2 hours earlier and i would not make a mistake

We have to call at that exact time or earlier?

Thanks for the advice, i'v been checking prices and skype charge me about 1/10 of what would make my local phone company, so i would prefer to call by skype on my pc, but if using skype could cause problems like access dinied, interruptions or connections lost in the middle of the event i don't mind to spend a little more and use regular phone, i never joined conference calls before so i have no experience to make the right choice...

I may be wrong, but I think you have the time wrong, are you not the same as the UK? Maybe I've messed up my calulations?

            True,
Unless you have a skype phone number and pay the $30/year for service (may be more - this is with discount). with this you get unlimited local and "in-country"(? depends on your country) long distance...

That is the service I actually have - it's great.

I just get credits to call outside of US or Canada and a few cents per minute.
                    Sincerely,
                    Aaron Murakami

                      7pm PACIFIC TIME ZONE - AUGUST 4TH

That countdown timer, even if set to 7pm won't show it as 7pm pacific time.

No matter where you are, just know that the call is on August 4th, 7pm PACIFIC TIME ZONE (LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA TIME)
                      Sincerely,

                        Perhaps this will help:
                        Event Time Announcer

Aaron, you have not specified any city/state,
so I used a generic California city for the graph.

                        I attached a screenshot pic

                        UPDATE:
I am only allowed 4-MB of attachments it seems,
I cannot post the graph of all timezones as a pic,
I don't want to screwup any previous thread posts
by deleting pics pertinent to the previous text posted.

                        Sorry...

Yeah, that counter is wrong on both the days, and the hours,
and I'm only two hours/zones away in Central time zone USA...

                        .

Aaron, could you give an indication as to how long the conference will go for? I don't have Skype because my ADSL connection is erratic so I will have to call internationally via a landline.

                            special event time

                            WeThePeople

I think the counter or city doesn't really matter. The date and time specified is AUGUST 4, THURSDAY, 7PM PACIFIC TIME ZONE. That is all anyone needs to know - all else is confusing.

If you are central then I believe you are 2 hours ahead and simply need to add 2 hours to your time zone, which will make it 9PM for you, also on August 4th on Thursday night.
                            Sincerely,
                            Aaron Murakami

Hi, 45 minutes, possibly as long as 1 hour but want to keep it to about 45 max.

                                Precisely,
the inconsistancies between the countdown page, the signup page, the welcome email, following emails, all contradict each other, and of course the counter.

Could you ditch the broken counter,
and clean those other things up
so they at least agree with each other ?

That is what is the most confusing to everyone.

And Keyos, your right btw about that,
that counter indicates 7AM, not 7PM

I offered the cleanest solution for the moment,
here is a much shorter URL for everyone to use:
