Hi ltseung888, I read your posts at 'our' and I would like clarification on the joule thief circuit setup, if you please.
In your latest best prototype setup, you are using a toroid core of which type material?
I don't see a capacitor in your joule thief circuit, are you using a capacitor?

How do you have the coils wound on the toroid core, do you have the 22 turn secondary wound on top of the 11 turn bifilar oscillator, or are they separated on the core?
How are you tuning the circuit, besides the use of the scope, are you using resistors on secondary to change the resonance?

Thanks for answering any questions. I wish to try and get some kind of resonance going in a joule thief with secondary without scopes. I know it can be done.

Capacitor is optional.
Resistors used to tune for resonance, also breadboard holes can be used and variable resistor in secondary output winding.

Thank you for reading the information at my bench on OUR. I shall summarize my thoughts as of today (Sep 2, 2011)

1. My first hint of success was with a signal generator as the primary. I added an LED to achieve Pulsed DC. A toroid was used as a transformer. I could detect resonance characteristics when I varied the frequency. That was in May 2010 in Hong Kong.

2. Observer pointed me to his work on the flyback transformer – achieving resonance and possibly overunity. He and others pointed me to the Joule Thief Circuit.

3. I got my student team to work on the air-core Joule Thief Circuit with a Secondary LCR circuit. We did put in actual capacitors and resistors. Two oscilloscopes were used to observe Input and Output simultaneously. The Output Power Curved showed clear sign of standing waves – a characteristics of resonance. (We did not realize the significance at that time.)

4. My Atten Oscilloscopes did not have the automatic generation of the Mean Function of the Power Curve. Hand calculations by counting squares on the Power Curve were done. Since Energy = Area under the Power Curve, we could determine the Input and Output Energy and confirm achieving overunity.

5. Since the signal generator was expensive compared with the Joule Thief Circuit, we focused on using the Joule Thief Circuit to achieve overunity. Since I do not have the Mean Function, I used the approximate estimation of Vpp*Ipp or Vrms*Irms to get what was known as the Tseung FLEET Comparison Index.

6. We presented at Hong Kong University and conducted 2 workshops. In the second workshop, a student, Felix, managed to produce a Tseung FLEET Comparison Index of over 280 using ferrite core toroid on a breadboard.

7. We knew that the setup was very sensitive as other students used the same material, used the same number of windings and initially got underunity. After some tuning (tighten winding, using different holes), their prototypes showed overunity of between 2 and 10. This is another good indication of achieving or getting close to resonance.

8. When I went to USA, two FLEET prototypes were sent to Prof. Steven Jones. Prof. Jones focused on the basic Joule Thief without the secondary and achieved COP = 8 as described in his thread at Overunity.com.

9. With the HK$6,000 to every Hong Kong Citizen from the Hong Kong Government, I decided to purchase the equipment for USA. I am able to reproduce the results in Hong Kong now in USA.

10. My technique is to carefully examine the waveforms on the oscilloscopes. The most important one is the Power Curve. I shall use the signal generator as the pulsing source again. If the theory is right, I should be able to produce the Steven Mark prototype and NO pulsing source would be necessary. So far, all preliminary experiments pointed to that direction.

11. Many teams trained by me in both Hong Kong and USA hinted that they have achieved the Steven Mark results but refused to disclose the information freely and openly on the Internet because of commercial reasons. One group told me that they would send me a working product after they have commercialized their operations.

12. I do not treat the work as my invention. I treat it as Divine Revelations from the Almighty to benefit the entire human race. Thus my own work will be given free to the World.

More research and investigation will be conducted. At present, it appears that Multiple LCR resonance circuits do have some strange effects. There is measurable voltage activity compared with pure background case.

It is a matter of whether we can magnify such effects.

Summary discussion on Sept 7, 2011

Discussion with Prof. J

Prof. J: "Let us discuss the work you have done so far and see what is the best approach to take in the near future.”

Tseung: “Let us start from the experiments on the prototypes. I do not want to discuss the sound resonance any more.”

Prof. J: “I believe you have shown that you can:
1. Tune the prototype by moving the wires closer or further or using different holes on the breadboard. If I assume that different capacitance is associated with such action, your action is scientific.
2. Achieve some type of resonance when the Output Power Waveform became standing waves. I know that standing waves are characteristics of resonance. The energy used to maintain a perfect standing wave is zero.
3. From the Excel analysis of the Instantaneous Power curves, you can get the mean power. COP is best calculated from the ratio of the mean Output Power over mean Input Power. That analysis showed that many of your prototypes have (or can be tuned to) COP > 1. You saved lots of money by not buying the expensive oscilloscopes with that as a built-in function.
4. The waveforms with no battery when the oscilloscope probes were connected to the Secondary A or B of the prototype showed activities compared with probes connected to nothing (or non-resonant circuits). Please do more investigation on this.

Have I missed anything significant?”

Tseung: “I prefer to work on the air toroid. I know that the inductance or even capacitance can be changed with the number of turns, the tightness of the turns and the angle of the turns. I now firmly believe that the Steven Mark Prototype with multiple coils do have scientific basis. I shall work more on the existing prototype and then move to a larger air-core toroid.”

Prof. J: “You are speculating that the resonant set up could lead-out or bringing-in energy from the environment. I treat that as speculation at this point. Your experimental evidence so far has not confirmed it but does not rule it out either. You have some indirect support from the Steven Mark videos.”

Tseung: “From the previous work in Hong Kong, I could get high output voltages with actual capacitors on the secondary. Some results from Dr, Ting exceeded 450V – from a 1.5 AA battery.”

Prof. J: ”One interesting element in your prototype is the ‘wrong’ plugging in of the LED in the Joule Thief Circuit. In the normal JT, researchers use the lighting of that LED to claim success. Your not lighting the LED forced more flux changes to light up the LEDs on the secondary. That is a lucky break. Please investigate that further.”

Tseung: “I shall. Now I know that the use of a second oscilloscope will be invaluable. I believe few researchers on the Internet have such facilities. Many do not have one. How can they function?”

Prof. J: “Let us focus on your efforts. You have much more work to do but what you have done so far made scientific sense. Ignore the armchair quarterbacks.”

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Chinese Tradition is to eat moon cakes and light lanterns. It is full moon and that represents the good things in life.

We need to be grateful for the many good things. Sometimes we take them for granted. We do not appreciate their value until they are taken away.

My eyesight is an example. I never valued good eyesight before. My hearing is getting worse. One retiree who is a few years older said: “You are lucky. You can still walk and swim. Your joints are not aching and you still have reasonable memory. You can still do research.”

Another one said: “One of my younger friends is a volunteer driver who drives old people to shopping centers. He quitted recently because he lost one of the old ladies in the Mall. He called up the volunteer center and then the police. Apparently, the old lady met a friend at the Mall. The friend drove her home. The old lady forgot to inform the driver or the Center.”

I must be thankful for what has been granted. I know how to get energy from air, from gravity and from LCR circuits. That knowledge is a blessing. Thank you to the Almighty.

Waiting for the replacement probe

The second oscilloscope arrived with a broken probe. A replacement would be sent. Hope to get it within 4 weeks.

During the wait, I spoke to Real Estate Agent A and friends D and P.

A: “Can you help me to get more clients? The housing market is a pool of dead water now and is expected to remain so for a few years. Whatever President Obama tried does not seem to help!”

D: “I checked on the Internet. There is a large number of foreclosure houses. My sister bought recently and the price paid was only one-third of the market value.”

A: ”Such houses usually need much work. It is not a fair comparison.”

P: “I am an investor. The golden rule is to buy low and sell high. I know many unemployed individuals willing to renovate or decorate to make such houses nicer. I heard that sometimes you could get fire-sale bargains at auctions.”

A: “With auctions, you need to have the full amount ready. It is a specialized market.”

D: “My sister worked with a real estate agent and got the foreclosure properties from a Bank. The Bank was eager to get rid of such property.”

A: “The Bank Manager should be shot. It is exactly such action that depressed the housing market. The Banks should demolish all such property. A simple internet search will reveal that there are over 570 foreclosure properties in Irvine alone. How can we have business in such an environment?”

Tseung: “It is like over production of tomatoes. One way to keep the price up is to destroy much of the crop. Is this the same concept?”

P: “Let me buy a few at the low price before demolishing them.”

D: “I believe all the Consultants and President Obama himself knew the situation and the solution. But this is a big political decision – interfere with the Free Market. I believe it will just be talk, talk and talk again.”

Tseung: “If we can get many others echoing the same thought – just like multiple LCR circuits in resonance – something good may happen.”

D: “Sympathetic vibration drawing energy from the masses.”

It is the dogged determination PLUS the correct method

I had a chance to meet the swimming coach Pauline Tao. Pauline was at one time a National swimming Gold Medal Winner and a Coach of the now famed China swimming team. She is now the Head Coach at Waterworks in Irvine.

She only coaches the swimmers who want to compete and excel. Some of her students are as young as six years old. I spoke to one of her top students who recently qualified for the Junior Olympics. She joined the swimming team at the age of six and has been coached by Pauline for four years now.

The training was brutal. In order to cater for the normal schooling, the students have the team training at 5:30 to 7:30 am Monday to Friday. Some take private lessons in the evening or at weekends. There are regular competitions within the team and with other swimming clubs. The progress of every student is charted and checked.

Parents were not allowed in the team lessons. Most of the American Coaches use the praising technique to encourage their students. Some minor faults may even be tolerated. The emphasis is on fun. But Pauline is different. She used the tiger mother method. Her students will have to be the best in the World. Harsh words are often used.

I chatted with the mother of the swimmer.

Tseung: “It takes much determination and effort on your part to take your daughter to the swimming club at 5:30 am every weekday. It must be hell in winter time.”

Mother: “It takes effort but we are glad that we are doing it. My daughter is well respected amongst her peers and she is happy. She is a top student as well.”

Tseung: “Has your daughter ever thought of giving up or refused to get up so early in the morning?”

Mother: “More than once. We have to push and support her. But when she wins the gold medals or when she sees her improved time in the charts, she is highly motivated. She had a fever during the Junior Olympics Competition but she won. That was not her best time.”

It is clear to me now that to achieve something worthwhile, one must have the dogged determination. One must be “brutal” to overcome all obstacles and distractions. In addition, one must have the right methods and support.

Experimenting with Multiple LCR resonance circuits using private resources in a bedroom will require dogged determination and brutal efforts. May God bless all such researchers.

Conclusive experiment?

With God's Blessing, I believe I may have completed the conclusive experiment on sound resonance.

The question is - when the resonance sound is louder, where does the extra energy come from?
A. One traditional answer is that there is only one sound source; all energy must come from such a source.
B. The Divine Revelation is that the kinetic energy of air molecules can be led-out or brought-in.

In the experiment, we have a constant sound source. The sounds produced by 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 resonance boxes placed with their closed end at ¼ wavelength were compared both by listening and by the displays on the computer. Finally, one of the resonance boxes was replaced by a beer glass with a slight funnel shape. That final configuration sounded loudest.

The results showed that the sounds become louder with 1, 2, 3, 4 resonance boxes arranged as shown in the diagram. The frequency was set at 630 Hz. This experiment can be reproduced easily. Another team in Canada is planning to replicate the results with their own setup.

I believe the experimental results clearly confirm that assumption B is more reasonable. Resonance boxes are passive devices that cannot generate energy. The extra sound energy must come from the environment – in this case, the already available kinetic energy of the moving air molecules.

Resonance

The sound resonance experiments clearly revealed the following:

1. Louder sounds can be produced by placing resonance tubes or glasses at the appropriate positions.
2. The frequency is important and fortunately, this can be produced and reproduced with the signal generator.
3. At other non-appropriate positions, there will be no louder sound. In some configurations, the sound may even be less.
4. Tuning is extremely important.

I believe something similar will happen with Multiple LCR resonance. Many tried and few succeeded because the resonance conditions were not met. Hopefully, when the replacement parts from China arrive (a few days?), the tuning experiments can be done in USA.

Zero Point Energy 1

Subject: Zero Point Energy – Part 1

I met Scientist S who had spent much time on the concept of Zero Point Energy. Here are some of the juicy points.

Scientist S: “Is the Lead-Out or Bring-In Energy theory the same as the Zero Point Energy theory?”

Tseung: “Yes and No. There are some common grounds. However, there are some important differences.”

Scientist S: “From Wikipedia, Zero Point energy is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical physical system may have; it is the energy of its ground state. All quantum mechanical systems undergo fluctuations even in their ground state and have an associated zero-point energy, a consequence of their wave-like interaction. Do your lead-out energy systems lead out such energy?”

Tseung: “My Lead-out energy Theory is much more down to earth. In other words, I can explain the source of energy in terms of Newtonian Physics. I do accept that there is no such a thing as total vacuum where there is a void of energy or energy fields. Any imaginary cube in this universe will be affected by the gravitational pull of the stars; it will contain some electromagnetic waves; it will be affected by any measuring device brought-in.”

Scientist S: “In zero point energy theory, there is no true vacuum also. But it is different from your theory in that any cube in space has energy at ground state. Such ground state energy is theoretically very large.”

Tseung: “I do not need to think in terms of ground state energy in quantum mechanics. I can use the Three Divine Revelations from the Almighty. 1. Energy can be extracted from Still Air. 2. Energy can be extracted from Gravity. 3. Energy can be extracted from the orbiting electrons.”

Scientist S: “If you extracted energy from Still Air, what will happen to the air?”

Tseung: “The air temperature, the device and the surrounding will get colder. One good example is the James Kwok Hidro. I explained its operation using the analogy of firing a water rocket within the water tube. The adiabatic expansion of air in expelling the water downwards to provide the thrust will cool down the air and the rocket.”

Scientist S: “That is brilliant. You also demonstrated that putting more resonance tubes at appropriate locations to a constant sound source will produce louder sounds.”

Tseung: “A resonance tube is a passive device. It cannot generate energy. It is NOT a source of energy. The extra sound energy must come from elsewhere. In this case, it is from the kinetic energy of the air molecules. It requires the condition of Resonance. The Lead-out energy theory cannot be wrong. The first Devine Revelation (Energy can be extracted from Still Air) cannot be wrong.”
