  • Radiant chargers and there batteriers ??

i was looking on the forum and couldn't find a tread on just this topic heres what im hoping someone can tell me... iv got an Imhotep(a big ty to you man and woman your awesome) radiant relay charger and have been having lots of fun with.

i noticed that Ni Cad batteries charge weird(they gain volts really fast the first minute then completely stop and know longer charge and then will charge well with a normal charger thats odd and i heard other talking about this too)

im gonna be testing multiple type of batt's wondering if someone knows or has a list of the batteries that work best with radiant would be helpful ty

I have had a lot of success with the relay charger. Rechargeables, alkalines, and
even brought back a lithium ion lap top battery to work, although they are supposed to be much trickier and dangerous to work with. The good thing about the Imhotep relay charger is that they are quick and easy to put together. The only drawback is the noise. I found it easier to go by Lidmotor's video for making it. He seems to have a knack for making a lot of the projects on this forum a lot clearer.

hey all iv been playing with my little car relay charger iv noticed that if i leave my thing on continuously it hits a wall after gaining a good amount of volts... however if i turn it off then on for anywhere between 1-2 minutes then off again repeating this cycle i was able to push some old 9v alkalines past that wall that i hit all the way back up to 9v or more and ran some 9 v appliance's i got a small power supply so i can see what the coil is using and its running on less then a 1/4 ".25" watt and that puts alot back into the battery for the little time i charge it.

also i was able to run 3 of my neon bulbs with the power supply at some 12-13 volt at show 0 current being shown taking. take off a bulb and it goes into the -.01... -.02 range. take off the other and more in the negative we go. i believe this happens because the radiant spike is going back to my power supply.

thought id share what iv noticed and if anyone could explain the effect iv noticed thanks all
